Hi all,

Thinking of upgrading my spark to a S4 Revo. However, I heard many stories about S4 EFI breaking down a lot of times.

Any possible alternatives for a 2A bike?

When cornering low, you will hear some irritating sound of the rear tire brushing against the rear hugger.

Got other bikes such as DRZ400SM, some 2A scooters as well.

Revo is a common sight nowadays, alot of ppl riding it.

If the review is tat bad, why ppl are still buying it?

Are you guys pleased with the headlight beam brightness, pattern, and spread of the super4? I have other bikes, and in comparison, I find the beam quality: (i) even-ness of the spread (ii) distance projection, to be pretty poor quality.

I've already replaced it with a superbright higher wattage bulb. The bulb is good on its own, it's the reflector unit that is a bit disappointing. Especially when I am riding on dark malaysian roads with no street lamps.

Any options for replacing our headlights to a better one?

hi riders. I'm intending to get a first hand cb400 revo. i went to a dealer of boon siew motor and he quoted me the machine price lesser than the actual machine price as quoted by boon siew motor. is it possible that it might be a PI bike despite the shop being a dealer of Boon Siew?

I changed original fuel pump for 750 sgd. I am unlucky that it is the body of the fuel pump that breaks... If is jus the silver colour fuel pump cylinder in the fuel pump... Jus call ur workshop to get a mitsubishi car fuel pump to install in it. Exactly the same. If use car, only 130 sgd.

Bro where to get the mitsubishi car fuel pump? Mine spoilt nia.

bros, fuel pump and tps is it the same thing?

two days ago my revo got this problem. when starting my bike, my rpm gradually fall from 1.5 to 0 then the engine dies off sometimes at the traffic light. so yesterday i went to a bikeshop and ask the mechanic to check for me. the mechanic change for me the spark plug and wash my air filter for me. after that he test the bike and the problem seems solved. but after i went home when i about to reach my home the same problem occurs. so today morning i went back to the shop again. the mechanic after afew test n check he adjust the fuel injector. after that the problem seems solved. but again when i went back home and about to reach home, the problem of the rpm gradually fall from 1.5 to 0 came back. after that i went to another bikeshop for help. they diagnose and check that my radiator is leaking and the problem may be due to the leakage. so i change to a new radiator, but the rpm problem still occurs and the bike still will die off by itself.

after a long check, the mechanic says its the fuel pump sensor faulty.

pls help.

don't waste time and money changing parts that are not related to your problem many mechanic out there do not know what they are doing.revo is a new generation cb 400 that run with fuel injector, ecu etc. my 4 years +++ revo have the same problem with low idling, went to unique motor at toh guan replace a after market TPS and problem solved but with higher rpm around 1500+. the mechanic told me that revo idle at higher rpm ??

unconvince by his remark i fine tune it myself , rpm back to 1300 rpm it now running much much more smoother than before with better pick up. they have the parts but do not know how to fine tune it.with a very slight voltage setting of 0.01v to the ECU u will have around 500 rpm different. can call me at 91863146 .during my 4 year of riding on revo the bike did not give me any problem at all cheer

usually boonsiew sell higher than other dealer you find outside. PI bike or Agent bike, can be found out checking the chassis number. usually shops are honest whether the bike they are selling is agent or PI bike.

if you are interested in buying a new revo. drop @ramsnake a private message. he recently helped @chiaph in acquiring a new bike at a good deal. :D

Bro.... I also got the same issue as you. It is just the TPS issue.

Alternative 1.) Go unique buy an after market TPS @ $180 ====> problem solved till (ur luck)

alternative 2.) Go boon siew change throttle body cum tps @ $1500 (excluding labour) ====> an undisclosed mechanic at unique advised me before that there should be a reason why boon siew dun sell the TPS seperately but only sell as a bundle.

Alternative 3.) Find another workshop to change throttle body cum tps for u including workmanship @ $1250 (price last quoted to me.) Boon Siew sells parts cheaper to workshop then to common ppl like us.

I personnally recommend u to take option 1 which is what i did... IMHO, either boon siew tps or unique tps... All are eventually electonic stuff and will meant to be replaced soon or later. Jus get a $180 one will do. Time taken for unique to help u change TPS = less than 5min

About 200km before reserve

Mine is also about 200-220km when I hit reserve.

Should be the af ratio. Too rich and excessive carbon

How did you come to this conclusion? Does your spark plugs indicate this?

yupyup.. my bike jsut hit 350km today and haven hit reserve yet..lol..but confirm later reserve..going out soon to fill up my bike.. and i ride frm wdls to SAF ferry terminal for the past 2 weeks.. but this is at 7k rpm usually.. i rarely open vtec unless some idiot drivers tailgate me..

This is the way to get good fuel consumption or rather fuel efficient numbers. From his description, @Fowler rides in a gentle manner. If I were to hazard a guess, he would typically change gears at about 4.5k-5k RPM and he slowly build up speed to about 120km/h on the expressways. The fact that he also rides over a longer distance help with FC numbers.

Unfortunately, my typically trip in Singapore is about 2km or start and stop rides. I also like to ride in a more spirited manner. Thus my fuel consumption numbers are about 18km/L.

@StrongBow also asked if PC5 can help save fuel without sacrificing power. My personal view is that there is no such thing as wanting to have the power and save fuel. Unless we are talking about redesigning a more fuel efficient engine, like the NC700, all things being equal power and fuel efficiency are quite mutually exclusive. In fact the NC700 just goes to show that it lacks the power of the Revo, which has a smaller engine, to reach the top speed of 190km/h.

Before spending any money on a PC5, I recommend anyone complaining about fuel consumption numbers on their bike to mirror the riding style of Fowler. Do it for about a week and you would be surprised at what your bike can achieve.

Fowler is riding a Revo. I believe what he means is that he usually change gears before vtec opens. However when on the expressways he does ride to about 110-120km/h but this is a gradual build up of speed.
