Opened up my switch assembly as I was replacing the throttle cables. Yes, you are right the first time - there is a hole in the handle bar and the assembly has a notch slotting into this hole to keep it in position. The hole is about 3mm in diameter. So, if you are going to move the switch assemblies by more than 2-3mm, you can drill a new hole in the handle bar for the new position. However if you are only going to move it by less than 3mm, I'd suggest you leave it as it is because drilling another hole too close to the original hole is going to weaken the bar. Best if the gap between the two holes is bigger.

You need a charger, bro. Why don't you just go to your regular bike shop and ask them to order a Yuasa for you? Ask them to charge it you for at least 4-5 hours. If they won't do it for you, go to another shop.

The battery need not to be charged...just use the electrolyte acid provided or if ur Yuasa YTZ 10s is from Japan (orange box packing) just install bekuz it's dry cell factory activated.

Stupid Hurts!.:giddy:Speed doesn't kill, mistakes does :faint:

Hi @Ah Pek

Looks like we have a difference of opinion... :)

I've found in the early days that my first few batteries didn't last. Then a good friend recommended that I charge a new battery before using it and it does make a difference.

Here is what someone else wrote about new batteries.

" If you purchase a battery, add acid, and put it into service immediately, you WILL NOT get good service life and performance over the years from that battery!!"

As for the Yuasa factory activated batteries you mentioned, Yuasa themselves state that "When not in use, a battery discharges on a daily basis sometimes up to 0.5-1%. This rate of discharge increases when the climate is warm."

As we don't know how long the batteries have been sitting in the warehouse and then the shops, it would be safe to say that the battery is no longer at 100% charge by the time we buy it. So, I would still charge it before using the battery.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

Thanks a MILLION !!!

Will get the mechanic to DIY tomorrow.

I had the same problem just 2 weeks ago. Try what @Izammo suggested first. If it works, great. If it doesn't, send your bike to a trusted shop or DIY the following:

1) Use a test pen to test the wiring connections including the headlight fuse. In my case, the wiring was corroded and needed replacement. Note that the corroded wiring was for a headlight switch I had installed. Cost of replacing the wiring and troubleshooting - $25-30 depending on your shop rate.

2) If wiring is ok, then it most probably the headlight bypass switch in that's mated to the ignition button. The connection may be corroded over time. If WD40 didn't work, the switch cluster needs to be dismantled for a more thorough cleaning. This should do the job rather than replacing the entire switch assembly. The switch assembly is built to last and rarely needs to be replaced. Mechs who just ask you to replace the assembly are just too lazy to service/clean the part. I have little patience and no respect/trust in such mechs.

Problem solved.

The wire was corroded and the mechanic replaced it for me. =D

Hi guys, my key for spec 2 was broken into half and the bottom part was stuck in my petrol keyhole. Bad thing is I only have 1 key. What should I do next?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

bros, i have a prob. recently after i change my clutch lever, i've tis prob. whenever i engage on low gear and i throttle very little, the bike wil jerk all the way until i whack my bike abit more. i duno whether is it the clutch plate is wearing out or the clutch lever is defective or there's some problem on my fuel injector. cause before i change the clutch lever, i never encounter the jerking part when i throttle very little.

pls advise.

Maybe you can adjust the biting point and the clutch free-play?

LUbricate the clutch cable will help?

After verifying with planet motors where i did a temp repair there, actually the throttle body sensor and throttle positioning sensors are two different components. Apparently the tps is easy to get, now I worry for where I can find the tbs, i have to replace it or i will face the same problem in the future..ramsnake, winner or anyone can help? Thanks...

Sorry, but I've only heard of TPS. Probably I'm ignorant of TBS. Anyway, when you finally managed to get it replaced, maybe you can post a photo here for reference. Thanks.

Yep, shall not do the drilling as I am not confident whether a new hole will weaken the bar. Shall live with the minor inconvenience and exercise my trigger finger a bit more. haha

Like I said you can file off the tabs. I dont think the switch will move, (i think you asked in another thread about the moving part?) if it does then maybe u can put in some rubber strips in between the assembly and the handlebar. :)

You can ask around some shops first. They may do repairs for speedo. Lcd not clear can replace the film. Button not working may be adjusted back once the meter is opened.

i recently just replaced my speedo casing too. i'm nt sure if you mean changing the whole speedo or just the casing. if you changed the whole speedo then go get a refund!

Hi bros... i need your suggestions. How much air pressure should i pump into metzler m5 for revo?

the air pressure is not brand specific if i'm not wrong. you just have to follow what the honda manual recommends. 225/250(front/back) for single rider, 250/290 for rider with pillion. so depending on whether you have pillion often and roughly your weight you can increase or decrease

bt bro, does the clutch lever and biting point contributes abit to the jerking part?

At least you try first, the clutch might not engage properly.

Fastest way to solve the problem is to bring the bike to a bike shop and let a mechanic rectify.

I'm riding revo. When i tried hands free while bike on the move, handle start to shake. When i hold back the handle it will not shake. Is it normal or not?

Alot of factors. U may want to check the steering cone, wheel bearings, or uneven weight distribution, just to name a few.

Hey guys, i find it difficult to start my bike nowdays. Will take at least 2 cranks to start. Any factors why? Cant be batt as my lighting all look good. Rectifier, i change last 2 yrs ago. Anything that i need to consider?

Lighting good? did it flicker when you crank your bike?

It could still be batt, cos if it is old it may not store charge as well as a brand new?... how old is the batt?

...Rectifier, i change last 2 yrs ago...

Rectifier lifespan is about 2 years, lol...

Hmm... just my $0.02...

Hope the S4 lao jiaos could give something more constructive... :help:

Goodee hor hot goodee... Mat witz sebastian! :p
