maybe you can check if your batt is at least 12V 8.6Ah. this is accodring to spec3 manual. sometimes shops give batt that is less than 8.6Ah, it can work (as in running and everything) but might not have enough current to do the initial cranking.

Heard that the Revo, compared to the older S4 like Ver S, Spec 1 etc, is not so reliable on the parts. Eg, the coil give way after 3 yrs when he usually see such cases at the 8-10th year, the fuel inject have chronic issues.... I was advised that's the reason he (bike shop) advised he SG, the spec 3 is so overpriced, coz its the "newest" s4 that don't have reliability issues ( by Honda standards ). That also explains strange things like people buying a 2nd hand revo that is a few yrs newer than a Spec 3 but yet only cost 1-2 k more. In this case, the buyer thought he got a good deal only to realize the "reason" at a later date. Any inputs on this? Thanks.

Why choose Revo & is it a good choice? Compared with Carb Models CB400?

I got myself a 1st batch Revo when it was first available in the consumer market.

It has the grey engine and gearbox.

Now I got the black engine and gearbox version of Revo.

I can say is I rode Spec 1-3 before, as compared to Revo, Revo is better response and much more stable and better handling,

a much more smoother ride but a bit hotter as it's EFI, but not as hot as GSXR, GSXR is always cooking my balls.

Those who interested in getting REVO, can go the respective bike shops & ask for OTR prices, insurances & quotation.

Cos everyone of us get the bike at different prices due to COE & bought it at different timing, no point keep asking in the thread for the price.

I don't understand why people will go and buy those jacked-up prices S4 of previous spec, etc spec 2 and 3......

Paying so much might as well spend a bit more for Revo, new technology, EFI, better material and quality, also must take into considerations like engine wear/tear, COE expiring date etc for used bikes.

Consider the fact it is newer, more responsive and smoother ride.

Take into fact you buying a carb S4 which is been abused for how many years, worst still without proper care.

The money u need to set aside for wear & tears etc...........

My friend refused to heed my advice, complaining he has a tight budget, bought a spec3(4yrs bike) + (wear & tear within a year) is equivalent to a new Revo considering the deprecation & jacked-up price of carb S4.

Spec 3 what I feel tat it has been marked up due to the price increase of Revo, better parts/quality, higher workmanship/production prices of Revo.

Do your calculations and see which one is worth it to buy, its personal preference.

Thanks. with ref to the power supply/batt, looks like the issues likely could have stemmed from that. I never heard any thing bad on revo on the performance, handling. Its mainly restricted to the electronics eg,the EFI, alternator etc. Assuming its true, hope that Honda would address the power supply issue in the next model.

Can drink unlimited kopi (bs located in the same place as kah motors for honda cars) and eat prata at nearby shop.

Not sure if Mah is more efficient.

This is all politics played by the local bike repair shops in singapore. Problem is, they dont have the capability nor the capacity to repair Fuel Injected bike. Logically they wont support FI bikes, telling us that it's sucks, lots of problems, etc etc. All simply because they can't earn money in terms of FI bikes.

Im sick of hearing all these crap, especially when it is loaded with political interests.

But the thing is that this shop has no feedback on other FI bikes like GSXR 1000/cbr600/Fazer etc, when they transited from carbs to EFI. But I do ack your point.

15-16k for new revo OTR ? No wonder the new 400 series bo seng lee ( not much business )
