hi guys,

when i bought my wave, my rear brake was really noisy. i thought its just the brake pads. When i brought to the workshop to change, my mechanic said for wave, even after u change, the sound will still come back. True enough, after i changed to a better set ($22), after a week, the sound is back, and this time its even louder and more irritating. But i dun hear many waves out there having this braking sound. Wonder if it's only mine or something else is spoilt. Kindly advise.

Heeyy.

I also had that same probs months ago. However, went to Wing Yap AMK and changed to a new set of brakepads and the sound has gone.

No more of the 'Eeeeeeekkkkk..." sound.

Silent when i apply the front and rear brakes.

Is it possible to use a WaveR meter on a WaveS? I still prefer the analog type than the digital one.

i changed the 1st time also brakepads at the corner shop beside auntie shop (opp lavender foodcourt), at 1st ok, but after 3 days sound come back. Then went to LAB, they "pad their chest" say confirm it's lousy brakepad, tell me change original ones, only $15, confirm no sound. I changed, But after 3 days sound is back!!!

Hahha.. Ok. Maybe you should try Asking a mech to look at your brake pedal. :)

To be sure, put your bike on main stand then start engine on gear one, step on rear brakes to see if its really coming from there. If you were to change drum pads, make sure they grease internally the springs and misc mechanical parts else you're back to square one with the brake dust clogging up the well needed greased components which create your problem.

Watch how they do it and ask questions, if you aren't mechanical enough then you probably won't know whats going on with your bike. Then again, this is my thought about the problem, might not be accurate or true.

oh ya, when i throttle, my bike dosen seem to move off smoothly, takes some effort to move off.

My mechanic says my clutch skin finish, wear off. Quoted me $60+.

Can i ask if clutch skin and sprocket are the same thing?

You said it yourself, clutch skin is clutch skin and sprocket is sprocket. You can Yahoo them to read up on the difference, would save you time on waiting for answers and money on guessing whose recommendations is right. Good luck dude :thumb:

Hi, My 9 years old waveS always engine die whenever I stopped for few second.. I sent my bike to 2 diff workshop to repair also can't solve the problem.. both shop also same clean my carburetor and tuning but still the same. Anybody know what"s the problem ? Do you think if I change a new carburetor can solve the problem ? If yes what size carburetor should I go for ?

Any workshop can modified wave fuel tank to make it biggest ? tks.

It could be wiring, charging of batt, spark plug, air intake issues. I never really believed in carb cleaning much. Timing chain? Just a few guesses of mine..

Stay stock, you won't wanna have more of these problems and guessing what went wrong which usual mechs have problem diagnosing.

Its possible for the tank to be added on.

I'm on 80/90, 90/80. You can go smaller in size, experienced bike tyre shops will know.

You should know what to do, find a reliable and experienced bike shop dealing with wave next time. Try planet, where Ah Chong is, the Doctor of 2 wheelers. I ride most of my bikes from the cl2 to my 125s to him all the way in Ubi even from Jurong area where I reside.

Good luck :thumb:

I'm on 80/90, 90/80.

Mine's 80/80 , 90/80. Recommend by my friend who used to ride wave too. Is there much difference for 80/90 compare to 80/80.

Btw, got a question to ask. When i am riding, i hit a speed of 80 and when i try to go on to 90. I could feel there's a jerking vibration, is that normal or am i paranoid because my bike used to quite stable when i am on expressway but now it feel weird. That time my tyre was on wrong size and it's stable on expressway i understand. But now i already changed my tyres to the right size. It's stable but somehow i am bothered by that increase in vibration when i hit 85- 90.

Slight diff only don't worry.

You need the broadness of the tyre for cornering.. Maybe the jerking is due to engine tuning? Like its gasping for air or something? Thicker tyre profile and broader should be much stable. You probably need more effort from your drive chain to power it up to 90 unlike when you're on spoked rims or thinner tyres.

Oh okay thanks :D Hmm not sure man~ i don't like that jerk at the front wheel. Like will move abit s shape position when hitting 90 +

icic haha i realised 3rd gear have to be at least 60 or more so that when i changed to gear 4 it will not lose power. Is that the same for you ?

Meaning the bike will wobble? Let a reliable mechanic check, probably Dr Chong of Planet motors, I was just at his place chatting with him earlier in the day. Maybe something's going on with your bearings, either cone or wheel hub. Just a guess only.

Well, I can go up to 80 then change to 4th gear lol. How do you determine power? haha I don't get much of this ride with only 4 gears so I don't really demand much, got other rides at home for that purpose.

Hey peeps. Anybody knows whats the problem if even though i have replaced my old cone bearing, my handlebar still shakes when i let it go while the bike is still moving..

Help please.

did u have a rear box installed on your bike?

hi,

i just got my wave too, the S model. but i could cruise 80kph easily, if not for the wobbly front rim,(which i intend to change with a new tyre later). i just changed the wheel bearing. about your bike, have you serviced it recently? the throttle, cable, carburettor, air filter and stuffs like that? have you check/change the plug and engine oil?

no matter what machine, ride with your heart....but 'heart' your ride always

I've zhng my exhaust slightly, and tune down my idling of my carb, it can clock 80km/h and slowly climbs to 100km/h now on the highway. I'm pretty okay with the setttings, as it's just a transport bike to work.

Like to know any bro have the same front brake as mine? Rode so many bikes before, this is the first time i came across this, and the mechs at LAB told me it's like that one!!

Try to pull back your front brake lever "very very slowly". To my surprise one day when i first got my wave, the lever can pull all the way in. And when i push the bike with my feet, it moves, meaning there is no brake at all!!!

LAB mechs told me wave is like that, have to suddenly press the lever, or pull it back hard, cannot softly. And now even at traffic lights, with the bike at stationary, i can only use foot brake. Cos no matter how hard i use the front brake, it will become "loose" and i can keep pulling the lever back, in the end, it will also end up being pulled all the way in, with no brakes at all!!

Any bro have this also, or is the brake pump/lever really spoilt?
