battery or rectifier or ??

hello guys, got a problem. i dono if my battery is weak or the charging system is faulty. and i heard of rectifier. what is it?

 

ok first of all. my bike hard to start. must press like so long then can. just change plugs abt 1 mth ago. no prob with kickstart, but very hard to kickstart cos i riding skipper.

 

2nd, when on, must throttle to maintain the bike to be on, if not the bike die. is it idling problem? same goes when stop at traffic lights. sorry i dono these things.

 

3rd, head light will flicker when engine is just turned on. sometimes it wont light at all.

 

4th, how much would it cost to change the charging system if it is faulty, or the batt or whatever necesary. cos money IS a problem now. i dont have enough cash to do all at one go.

 

5th, bike drink petrol like water. used to get 20+/l but now 32 per TWO litres.

 

any advice guys?

rectifier is the 'thing' that charge the battery when the engine is running.. just like an alternator.

pull in the brake lever a little, throttle a little and push start.. it should work in this way. kickstart a bit hard meant that maybe the clutch or some parts already worn up. need mechanic to check.

i have same problem. i think it is the spark plug that got a bit wet by the 2t. just maintain the throttle awhile and it will be fine. but if it stop again after warm up, something is really wrong....

maybe the headlight bulb fusing soon or some connection problem. get a mechanic to check ..

i suggest u change battery. i was chopped before too, when similar problems happen to me. this chopping shop tell me rectifier is faulty. but turn out that wet cell battery doesnt work for my skipper..

must wash carb, clean air filter. might improve fuel consumption.

i went. botak cleaned the carb already. was ok now fc bad again. haha. oh i havent install airfilter yet. how much does it cost ar??

how much u replace rectifier? i using dry cell. previous owner used this for about 6 mths only. cant be batt die so fast? or isit the period to die already?

oh ya. my front brake doesnt work. doesnt 'eat' i dono how to say in good english. haha.

 

i depress the brake lever, bike can still move. sometime eat sometime dont.

asked few frens, some say calipers, some say pads. i dono. top up brake fluid still the same.

 

again to check and fix roughly how much?

 

sorry im really kinda broke, so i dont want to kana chop. if im rich i dont care bout price matters.

Hi Guys, I have two used Vulcan 1500A rectifier /regulator to let go at RM250-00 each excluding shipping. My vulcan had problem starting up even after a long ride and initially I thought was a faulty battery. After doing some reading on the forum, I realised that the fault lies in the rectifier/regulator as the battery was not being charged even when I was riding ...that drains the battery and caused the difficulty in starting up after even stopping for fuel.

 

The rectifier/regulator may fit other Vulcan models like VN750 as well but you need to check first.
