Honda NSR Hornet 125

I have got hold of the alains manual in the web.it says that just

reducing a teeth in front would increase 8mph(12.8km/h),while increasing the rear by a teeth would be 3mph(4.8km/h).

I have yet to test if this holds true. But alains is a British mechanic in the UK.And,I am very confident in his claim because he created the manual by his brilliance.

I hope it is still valid today.

Cheers

Top end is till 170km/h on gear 6 at 9000rpm.

There is still ample rpm till the carburetor sputters but

smaller front sprocket is required.I am using the OEM

sprocket configuration.

14 teeth @ front

35 teeth @ rear

Just to paint you a better picture. My powervalve servo is dead.

And in these conditions,I can still achieve a 0-100km/h in about 6 seconds.

With the powervalve on?

Higher torque would push the bike to a better time.

Bro,if you consider this bike, make sure you love it.

These bikes were abandoned because they gave way and the love

from their previous owners had somehow died down.

Parts are difficult to find to be honest. But it is one hell of a bike when it sprints.

very good & sound advices here....

i seconded on the love thingy on the bike...just like the Yamaha XJR400R & XJR1300, its a rare bike on our little island....without love:lovestruck:, it will not survive... trust me..u need love on bikes like NSR HOrnet...:dot:

And I want to make a confession.

I love my bike so much that I do not let

anybody to 'test power' on my bike. The right

to tune and service my ride is exclusively given

to Hou Heng Enterprise.

I personally do not like riding anyone elses bike also.

 Yup.It was also scientifically proven that if you talk to your plants and water

them with the feeling of love and concern, they grow more vibrantly.

I guess we are one of the few who communicate with our bikes.

I have the habit of saying hi to my bike in the morning.

Something casual like meeting up with a friend.

i do it discreetly, afraid that ppl might think that I have gone bust.

Wah................ as intimate as mine.I only have 1 bike till now.Going to get a YBR 125 soon. That would be my transport variant.

Got to call it Harrier. After the Harrier aircraft. The only aircraft that can vertically ascend perpendicular to the ground like helicopter in the world today.

Therefore,I will be having 2 aircraft, one is Hornet and the other would be Harrier.

For me,I really have the intention to test time.

As in to try and keep the NSR running for as long as possible.

The machine was registered in Singapore in 27th July 1994.

If it has to be away from the road due to laws on emission control.

Then,it will be put up in a showcase in my house.

Only time will tell, till then,I will have to really 'Jaga' the fella from idiots who do not know about my strife banging onto

her.

On 25th May last year,I had an accident due to an $#@% (& Malaysian trailer driver.

lUCKILY THE DAMAGE was only to the fairings and the winkers and nothing to the chasis.

From that day,I am extra vigilant.so far nothing(touch wood).I don't want to claim any body's insurance nor do I want to risk losing this Sweetheart.

Honda NSR 150 SP has a servo but it is a misfit(according to my mechanic).

Recently,I went down to FJT,they have the older model servo for $185 but that servo does not have grounding which my bike requires.

You could go to 10 Tractor Road.

There were a few Hornet's head cowling with the eyes intact.

It is on the top most shelf the moment you enter the scrap unit.
