Thanks man.. but seriously i'm still learning the traits.. i only when to a workshop to only change my back tyre, change seat cover, sprockets n chain.. got anything that i need to know bout bikes which u think is essential?

all bikes is the same, if look it this way...EO, Sparks Plugs, chains, spockets, battery, rectifier all need periodic checks every now & then. with older bikes & rare makes, getting parts could be a pain in the arse sometimes. But i feel its one love that tell apart a bike lover to a bike owner. Services to carbs, spark plugs, air filter is the usual stuff. Learn a thing or two on ya bikes & its traits here...Finding a alternative parts important details like spockets, carbs is a good way of improvising your bike. We need that cos our bikes, though different make, have a common probem when sourcing for spare parts....

some ppl say, love your bike & it would love u back....

RC Valve gives you more torque at lower RPM.

Get a 34mm carburetor.

After that, the stock airbox would no longer fit,so you should get cone filter.

Erm I've just read all post on this thread, basically I've been a member here since god knows when (Before I got my license like half a dozen ago or something) but though I used to read and chat a little on the forum I've never notice the hornet tread.

May I introduce myself as a big NSR fan, I'm riding (well as you might have probably guess) NSR150SP, I really like my ride and even though most of my friends since I became a rider went on to larger rides, I remain faithful to my NSR, I've been a student for a long time and I really can't fork out the time and money for exploring much on bikes (other then that one time I listen'd to my BMT mate and 'mod' my bike, which I've 'de-mod' it soon after lol).

I've join'd amper outings (usually SP's and Sports) last time, but I doubt anyone recognize my nick now, but thats besides the point. May I say that I've been very interested in the NSR (Hornet, SP, PGM-4), big fan of 2-stroke sports and I fell in love with the hornet the very first time I saw it (when I was window shopping and comtemplating on upgrading to 2A lol~ A lot of times) HOWEVER, as all the problems that you guys have mentioned already (parts and stuff), I didn't went on to own one.

Seeing that there are still passion running for the hornet makes me really happy and I hope that if, in the near future I would to own this bike, you guys could really support me. I will check back here often again (after a disappearence of so many years lol, surprisingly my account's still around lol). I'm still a student (damn SG's academic system lol), but I'm thinking of looking for a hornet and lay-it-up for the moment while I will be riding my SP and anticipating the Yamaha R125 (which if I were to get it on installment I would prolly layup my SP too), I have the intention of keeping my SP and as you passions say, give time a test. I will keep COE-ing my SP until finally it will end up being showcase in the my room lol~

P.S I'm really interested in all the mind-boggling thoughts you have esp the 180 bore kit, de-restriction, HRC CDI and all other evil thoughts you might have up there haha~ I'm wondering what I can do to my SP too, but you know theres a regret in me that I've riden for a number of years but there is so little of bikes that I know off...

Those uncles who have ridden the hornet and the LC and RD told me that this bike is capable of outrunning an SP in good working condition despite the displacement.

1)Due to the larger exhaust port dimensions

2)Larger carburetor volume(Del Orto vs Mikuni/keihin for 28mm)

My buddies & I have been speculating the Yamaha YZF R125 for a long time but it'll never beat the NSR series and little to say even smell Hornet's trail lol~

What's the tyga exhaust system? Anyway I chance upon an aussie web that sells a full carb kit quite a while ago... Hmmz~

I remember seeing a hornet somewhere near jln besar for sale at 1.5k think worth it? I doubt its in ANY condition to speak off... I'm thinking of lay-ing-it-up first, and take my time to tweak it.

As for the YZF R125 its sweet looking and 4-stroke probably gonna be for my daily if it can make >30km/litre petrol haha~
