It is whatever it says in your hire purchase agreement. If the agreement says nothing, then there's none.

not all bikeshop practice that penalty .. anyway for them to transfer the bike to u they got to call the ex own n ask for their IC no. to transfer the bike to u.. So the bike belongs to them but they did nt transfer it under their shop name to save cost.. so by this they is either lost the ex owner contact or they lost the IC no. anyway if u report tis to police u are nt on the losing end .. so no need to panic ..

it take 2 weeks or so for the paperwork to put the name of ur registered under that bike.. and yup every bike shop got this fuking cluase they never say when they sell u they bike.. its always until u say u wan do this do that then they say its stated u will have penalty for doing this or that

If you don't read the agreement before agreeing to the deal, if you don't ask questions on these things before you buy, you can't really fault anyone but yourself for not looking after your own interests.
