i did a search here but did not find a post relating to my question. so hopefully someone can help me with this to make my dilemma a heasier to handle :)

1. my current showa rear shock is very soft. i mounted boxes (h&b 3 box setup) and my bike would hit the road bumps when the bumps are high. i also hit the bumps when i have a pillion (even when boxes are off the bike).

2. i asked the question earlier and was advised to have my shocks serviced. the price was attractive. i haven't done this but am scheduling to do it in april 2011.

3. i was at motoworld yesterday and saw that they have a package for the hyperpro streetbox at S$980 which replaces the front and rear shocks. it is expensive but the folks there said it was a good upgrade if i was thinking of keeping my bike long term. they also mentioned it would help my bike with the bumps.

so my dilemma now is this. would servicing my current rear shocks be good enough for me to avoid hitting the bumps? obviously cost is an issue...but i would prefer to save my $ if servicing would do the trick.

can the gurus please advise?

thank you very much.

Go to Teck Thye at No. 12 Bradell Road and have the pair rebuild and refurbish..no regrets.look for David and tell him I recommended you..cost $240 with extra rebound rate spacer installed.

Just had my rear shocks done by David at Teck Thye based on Ah Pek's advice. They feel really good now. No bottoming and very stable. Best way to spend $240 in my opinion.

He works fast. Told me 3hrs on phone. But he finished in 1.5hrs even though had so many bikes to attend to here and there. Excellent work. Friendly. Fast.

ah pek:

how the job @ mezzo for suspension?..

I won't know bro..bekuz never been there or done anything b4. If I'm not wrong, they are Bitubo specialist and alike all suspension when it comes to repair or refurbishing.its all about the same except for parts compatibility..they should be good as I expect as special equipment is needed.

Can any bros here recommend what I should service and estimated price of the servicing?

Another thing I'm riding a Spec 1 which is more than 10 years old already, isit advisable I recharge my rear shock canisters?
