DIY is kind of easy 1...the big prob will be laying out the wiring, getting access to the compartments,eg remove parts to get access to the signal light wiring ....some bikes placing the main unit is abt tough...like Vespa...need to wire to the batt and mount it beside the batt...

anyway spending $20-$30 to get a experienced mechanic to do the job is the safest way,at least u dun have to get worried about fixing back the bike's part..

ride safe today,ride again tomorrow

hahahah

i diyed my alarm too.

went to shop and they quote me ridiculous prices which cost more than my alarm itself therefore, i decided to do it on my own and i am glad that it works...

simple connection if u r not using the remote start and it will be more easier if u don want to connect ur alarm to ur signal lights.....

just connect the positive and negative terminal to the respective terminals in the battery..

For the Steelmate alarm system, the immo wire can be link up to the ignition fuse so that when the bike is hotwired(Which means the system is loaded with current), the alarm will sound when the system is armed..

That hw i wired my Steelmate 2-way alarm last time when i DIY it..

I can explain to you but u need to connect the wires urself..Dont like cutting other ppl's property wires up if you get what i mean..Oh ya, just get me a drink would do..But best to standby a few fuses especially for the ignition fuse just in case..

Just a side precaution which i take..No problem teaching you on the spot on how to mount and connect it..

Some bikes are really prone to electrical loads..Bikes like PGM 4, u cant use Halogen H4 for both the bulbs..1 must be switch off if u install 2 on them..

IMHO, best not to use remote start as it might cause ur starter to be burn next time..
