PS: i'm not working for any of the Telcos, cos i'm thinking of signing up for the basic 384kbps $22 package.... any hidden terms & conditions that i've missed out?

oops!

just read it under the Terms & conditions....

Yeah, there is a benchmark of 2GB worth of data transfer (ul/dl).

But I suspect it as more of a guideline. More to target those heavy downloaders like P2P or VOIP users.

With all that, think this option is out for me. 1 whole day at SBF and I can download more than 2GB surfing and viewing pictures alone....

The 2GB limit is indeed just a guideline to weed out the p2p users.

Saw there was a review of it in yesterday's Sunday Times.

Skimmed through it coz I was rushing to read Liverpool's latest conquest. :p

Maybe if you guys can get hold of Sunday's paper, try read it up.

From what I scanned through, it appears the service is getting positive review.

is it?

care to share?

I was just at M1 shop. Spoke with one of the reps there about this. As I suspected so, the 2GB limit is more a guideline. They will actually call you up to check on your usage if you exceed 2GB and will decide on so.

You may or may not be charged beyond the 2GB. The rep assured me that normal surfing and email-checking that exceeds 2GB will unlikely be charged beyond the 2GB.

I don't see a point, unless its cable, most operators lease their bandwidth from singtel..

Been using M1 broadband $22 , 384kbps plan for a week. Its cheap , wireless & fast enough. Not fast enough for online MOG games, but good enough for surfing. Because many website download speed usually less than 384kbps anyway; so why pay for 1mbps unless playing online games?

Its also unlimited download - no 2 GB limits. Personally confirmed that before subscribing.

The contract is only for 6 month, after which can terminate anytime without penalty.

Only small problem is the initial connection is a little slow & buggy. But the free G3.5 modem can be swapped FOC once new ROM upgrades available.
