  1. When going straight (circuit): check left and right of the junction when you are near the junction, about 1 1/2 bike length from the stop line when going straight before the uturn: I am assuming you are approaching the filter lane on your right, check right blind spot, make sure your bike still in the middle of the lane you are traveling, TP loves to add more points if you are already filtering and checking. Or else if it is before the junction towards uturn, check left once when you are approaching the stop line. when turning right (after uturn): Check right when you are filtering into the right turn lane, same as before uturn, if you are at the stop line and right turn arrow is red, if you are going to turn when oncoming traffic is clear, check back and proceed to turn. I assume you know how to check after the right turn.
  2. Yep bleach manga is still ongoing but it cannot be compared to one piece in terms of sales as there have been a recent news ( I cannot remember the page) that one piece has entered the book of Guinness record for amount of copies sold and it has beaten all previous highest record in the comic section. Well, we all know that it is manga but not comic... but somehow or rather, one piece was compared with american comics such batman or superman etc. @Anodize: I do not know why but somehow or rather, your profile pic kind of reminds me of Mio from K-on and Hestia from Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka combined.
  3. 1.Starting bike in the morning can be hard at times especially during monsoon season. Ans: If there is difficulty in starting the bike, use kick start if you have, if not, let your bike rest for a few seconds, turn on the ignition and try again, worse case scenario, use push start, engage 1st gear, maintain quarter to 1/3 clutch and push, once engine start, clutch in. (Push start applicable if your fz16 is gen 1, without kick start) 2. Idle rpm low after starting the bike and die off easily. Ans: Adjust your idle screw located right below your fuel tank on the left side. Let it sit there to idle for a while to heat up the engine, once the engine has heated up, your idle rpm will increase, turn your idle screw again to lower the rpm. 3. Front brake calliper semi-seized state. (Happened to me) Ans: If you do not mind tinkling your bike, you can remove the front brake and brake pads to check if the brake piston are dirty or worse case rusting. You can use a G-clamp to push the piston back but not before you get sprays specially made for brake piston calliper servicing. I used mineral EO on mine haha. If not, send it to a workshop to have them checked. 4. Brake pump rusted internally, causing the brakes to be applied constantly. (Happened to me) Ans: I replaced the brake pump from Unique motor at $160, if you can find cheaper ones, just go ahead. 5. Rear brake lever rust (lever is towards the drum side, not your foot). Happened to another fz16 parking in the same area as where I live at. Ans: Buy a bike cover to cover your bike as she left her fz16 in shine and rain which cause a lot of her bike metal parts to rust. I went to this shop in Ubi, which is called KT & T accessory if I rmb correctly that did quite an impressive servicing to my bike after I gotten it. Change your tyres as well as it is one of the most crucial part of your bike that keeps you on the ground. Hope my above comments help.
  4. For people who are looking to find accessories such as crash bar, tank bar, handguard etc, there is is this place called Tok Kong Motor (TKM) aka Belwin motors that sells them, if anyone of you wanting to find a 400x group, there is a group on FB that is called SG400X. @chriszzz, if you are going to own a 400x for a few years, I would rather you look for a 2nd hand, 400x 2nd hand are coming out. I do not know much about suzuki gsr 400 so I cannot help you much on it but 400x definitely have the look and handling, if you are talking about power wise, do not expect much from the 400x. It is only a parallel twin, the feeling I get from 400x is that it is more towards a torque bike as towards the low range RPM, I change my gears at around 2.5k-3k rpm with no problem, very fuel efficient especially cruising at constant speed. There are group meet up almost every week for the SG400X group. Hope this helps for anybody who has question.
  5. You tried tightening the screw which is beside your finger? My guess is that such leaks will only happen if either seal is broken or the screw is loose causing oil to seep through tiny openings.
  6. Currently playing cabal online and phantasy star online 2. Awaiting arrival of cabal 2, hopefully I am chosen to be the FGT for sea server.
  7. Singapore landmarks featured in anime https://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/what-is-buzzing/singapore-landmarks-featured-in-japanese-anime-series-042127805.html?linkId=13935405 Feature anime is Plastic Memories episode 5
  8. Bike COE at 6312 as at 4.18pm 8th April, I sometimes wonder if the people who set the quota for COE actually read worldwide news about researches done about how motorcycles can help in easing traffic jams, or maybe they just cannot accept certain types of reality that goes against their personal beliefs that stems out from their brilliantly obstinate minds.
  9. I can only help you with point 1,2, 5 and only give u my personal opinions on point 4. 1.) This is 1 of the common problem with this bike, this is due to the fact that the engine is still warming up which cause ur rpm to be low, you either turn your idle screw to increase its idle rpm and then turn it down afterwards if you get the chance after the warm up or just start your bike and let it sit for a few minutes before moving off, this bike's engine is carburetor so it needs a much more manual warm up before the idle rpm becomes stable. 2.) This sounds more like your rpm is too low, might I know your rpm before you do a gear change? If not, you might wanna try revving a bit higher before changing your gear. This is assuming that your spark plug has no water contamination inside. 5.) I have not heard of any specific spark plug or engine being labelled as most recommended but if you want longer life span spark plug, you might wanna go for iridium spark plug, for EO, I have use fully syn all the time just that you have to take note of the rating. Try to go for 10W or 15W and not any lower. If you go for mineral oil then you would need to change your EO more frequently as compared to semi-syn or fully-syn. 4.) Personally, fuel consumption is based on riding style. The harder you rev your bike, the more fuel it eats. Traffic conditions will affect fuel consumption, if you travel in jams every time you go out, fuel consumption will be bad, but if you cruise comfortably everyday with a more or less constant speed, your fuel consumption will be at its best. Your travelling speed will also affect your fuel consumption, if you push your bike at super high speed every time, it will of course cause you to have bad fuel consumption. Sorry I am unable to comment on how CDI will affect fuel consumption.
  10. Wow, nice, the look on 2015's crosstourer has changed significantly as compared to the previous version. Gotta be honest, it does look a bit different from the link you posted, might be the accessories shown in the link that makes it look different. The bike's length is a bit shorter, front fork seems to have been jacked up slightly higher, there is a belly pan now and the handlebar is indeed wide from the photos you took, only thing you might wanna consider if you are intending to purchase this bike will be to purchase a front mudguard extender and a radiator guard, the stock front mudguard looks short. But all in all, it is still a beautiful piece of art.
  11. For me, if comparing purely on specs, I would go for 2015 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner, though lower top speed as compared to 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 but with its stronger torque and Honda Selectable Torque Control System, it gives a overall smoother engine purr and performance, I rmb reading somewhere about the 90-degree V-4 that gives the engine "perfect" primary balance, this in turn helped in minimizing engine vibration problems. In terms of looks, the honda also gives a compact but sharp outlook. Kawasaki do not lag much behind, but it is the addition technology involved in the crossrunner that catches me.
  12. Just curious, have you not considered other bikes like.....Honda NC750X, BMW GS1200, BMW GS 800, BMW GS 650, KTM 1190 adventure and 1190r adventure? The mentioned 5 are also dual purpose bikes as well. If I have the money, I would consider 1 of BMW GS series.
  13. FZ16 has a worldwide known issue for it's self start ignition, some worse some not, depends on your luck, mine was worse, I have pushed start my bike for countless times in the morning, same thing even after changing battery and ignition coil. if you have a kick start, try using that.
  14. hmm....I am a totally idiot when it comes to using cards, I only have a POSB go card for use as NETS, from reading online I understand that you apply for certain cards, you get to have a lot more discount when you pump petrol. 1) Can I use my friend's..let us say DBS credit card to swipe at the counter just for the discount and I pay my petrol by cash, is it possible? 2) do I have to use the card to make payment in order to enjoy the discount? 3) Will POSB go card give me any discount at SPC? If yes, what procedures do I need in order to enjoy the discounts? Sorry for the numerous questions.
  15. it is sad that we have black sheep around, I ride a motorized bicycle every now and then, I am a rider, I have a driving license and believe it or not, I do follow rules of the road on a bicycle (although not 100% as some of the rules and regulation is ridiculous as it causes more danger and disruption to other road users), where is the recognition and love for people like me who knows the dangers of the road and choose to obey rules and regulation?
  16. All these problems about having how many wheels as being car or scooter can be solved IF the people managing these standards in LTA were to 1st: Wake up, 2nd: Review other countries standards for new types of vehicles classification and compare, 3rd: Revamp or update the current standard system in Singapore with the leaders acknowledging and approving. Sure it may not be as easy as the stated 1, 2, 3 steps and it is going to take time for the system to be updated, but like the saying goes: if there is a will, there is a way. People should sometimes stop cornering others or themselves, resigning or dictating the current destiny or fate as the final verdict and we can soon amazing improvements in life and technologies.
  17. Oh dear, I am doing 3-5k RPM and i do let my bike run to around 90+km/hr for 4 times since i collected my bike on 14th November, wonder if it will have a negative effect my bike after the run-in... >_
  18. Duly noted and thank you for the advice.
  19. They say they will need to hold onto my IC for the registration of the new bike which I intend to purchase. Of course they will return it back to me but during the process of the registration, they will need to hold onto it.
  20. I apologize for jumping into this thread for a different advice, I am going to buy a new bike and the shop says they need to take my original IC, is this practice the norm?
  21. Hi Guys, Not sure if this has been posted before I happened to chance upon this adventure bike online that has almost the same design as BMW adventure bike but is made in china by a company called ZongSeng. The youtube link will show you how the bike looks like with the narration. The specs of the bike is in the following link: http://californiascooterco.com/csc_cyclone_rx-3.htm Please pardon me if this has been posted and if I am not allowed to post links from other website. Have a good day everyone.
  22. Oh so this is what you were referring to, since you did not state about what you saw in the garage sale in your first post which led me to think you were asking the possibility in general for the future or anytime something...catastrophic....miracle...... quantum leap in technology......or whatever 1 might refer happens. 6k price, 4.8k COE, difference leftover 1.2k. Honda C70......Honda GLOM (should cost more than kup).......not sure if there are any other possible machine vehicle that is able to fetch 1.2k nowadays. I cannot think of vehicle at that price....a LTA approved motorized mountain bicycle cost around 2k. This has got me wondering as well.
  23. The day this happens is the day when technology of engine has been improved and replaced by gyroscope-mercury-enclosed-current-induced rotation (GMECI) is finally successfully reversed engineered, duplicated and released by the US Air Force and NASA. This is because by then, nobody will want a vehicle that runs on the road, they would rather take to the sky with GMECI technology that not only let them fly anywhere and cover massive distance in a matter of minutes to even seconds.
  24. That is a belly pan and the head cowl, I saw this belly pan via google before but I could never find a shop that sells the shown pic, the belly pan I found is smaller and does not look as nice, as for the head cowl, you might want to try calling up uniquemotor sports, I rmb seeing a thread about fz16 accessories but I cannot seem to find the thread now. Why not ask your friend where he bought it?
