  1. We are organizing this on a private trip. Leaving end Aug to arrive at Boten Laos next to China border on Sept 2. Total trip in China will be 14-15 days. As such, leaving from Singapore to Chiangmai and back will be an additional 8-9 days. Total will be about 21-23 days.
  2. Hi, we are organizing a trip to shangrila in Sept 2014. If interested, you can join us as we are trying to make up the numbers.
  3. Yes. I had this serious wobbling problem when I took delivery of my new R1200GS LC. Wobbling was really bad at around 75-80 km/h during 3-4 gears when closing throttle. Complained to PML who did a good job to get the distributor to replace the front tire. However, after riding another 1000 kms on the new tire, the wobbling came back. Since then, managed to replace this useless Metzeler tires to Anakee 3. By the way, I had also checked with KL and Penang BMW Motorrad and it appears that it is a known problem.
  4. I am looking for BMW r1200gs LC front wheel alloy rim. Anyone interested in selling, please contact 97219018. Thanks.
  5. Hi pipapipu, We just came back from Laos and Cambodia. Sad to say that we were not allowed to go into Cambodia. We tried crossing from Laos and also Poipot from Thailand and were rejected.
  6. Yesterday, I sent my seat to be repaired and restored by Eugene Saddlery as it was badly done by another company. I certainly would recommend all of you to Eugene Saddlery for his commitment and genuine work in restoring and repairing seats.
  7. Be extremely careful on highway from Tak to bangkok especially in lane 3 and 4 ie. as these 2 lanes are used by big trucks. These 2 lanes are "uneven" and very slipperily with oil on road. A friend of mine has skidded at a traffic light with speed of only 20-30 km/hr. Infact, be extremely careful on all roads in Thailand especially the lane used by trucks as they are uneven and have plenty of oil spilled by the trucks. Very prone to skidding for bikes.
  8. Where can I find the retail shop that sell and install the seat lowering kit for my new Kawasaki Versys 1000?
  9. As you travel to Laos and Cambodia, what necessary documents do you need to bring and also get the necessary documents as you enter into Danok custom and then exit at what custom to go to Laos and Cambodia? I can get the bike insurance from Changlun, Malaysia to go into Thailand but what about Laos and Cambodia? Appreciate your help. Thanks.
  10. What was the name and contact number of the guesthouse that you stayed in Cameron Highland at , I think Jalan Mentigi? Appreciate your assistance on this. Tks.
  11. Do ride safe and look out for slippery road up Genting as it can get really wet up there. Take care.
  12. Hi, Have seen your blog and very interested in joining your nov/dec trip north. How to contact you on this? Thanks.

  15. Guys, Another friend and I intend to do a 3 days trip going from Singapore to Kuantan from Jun 21 and return on June 23 ie. Thursday to Saturday. Anyone interested in joining us? Both of us are very careful riders and my friend ride an 883 and I ride a 1200C. It will be a slow and steady trip with some sightseeing in Kuantan and hopefully some durian along the way.
  16. Cougar, I am overseas and will only be back end of this week. Can only meet up from next Monday onwards. Drop me your email and contact so that I can arrange to meet up next Monday onwards. My email address is chinny159@yahoo.com.sg
  17. I believe it is definitely cheaper than Singapore and also lots of shops for leather goods.
  18. Cougar, I did a Penang/Danuk/Hatyai/Songkla trip during February with someone new on a Sporster 883. No problem with the trip. I guess we all must Ride safely and ensure that we rest enough during each trip. It is also extremely important that our Bikes are in very good conditions before we go on any trip. We are infact planning another trip in the next few weeks for a day trip to Johor for seafood/Durian or a trip to KL to visit HD KL and a Shopping Complex that sells Biking accessories at extremely cheap price. You are most welcome to join us. So far, we may have 3 Sporsters and 1 Road King. Key challenge is trying to get everyone together.
  19. Guys, I am also a Sportster Rider. Great idea to have Sportster Club to get together for regular outings and organise rides to Malaysia/Thailand. Personally, I have been all the way to Phuket with my 1200C. Can always share experience on bikes etc.
