Hey, I'm just curious. For the ex/current WR200 riders, what did you feel were the good and bad bits about the ride? I keep seeing and hearing problems about the WR200, was it honestly a good ride for you guys? And compare to the XR200 how?

Hope you guys can help out! Thanks alot!

hey artistrik,

everybike will have some mechanical now and then.

it depends on the usage and maintainance of previous owners and current owner. That may be one of the reasons why different riders will give different opinions of a WR2. If you learn to maintain your bike's performance, there shouldn't be any major hiccups.

wr2 is a decade old bike. so it won't be as smooth as a newer or brand new bike. be it a wr or xr, get a friend who rides a dirtbike to go down with you to view the bike and listen to the engine and any other necessary things to lookout. there's a thread regarding things that you need to lookout for when buying a 2nd hand bike from someone. once you get your ride, do the necessary maintaince. if you are not sure what to do, there are tons of info on what needs to be done. quality of EO, 2T, sparkplug also affects the performance. if you feed your bike with the cheapest oils and plugs, it will give you cheap performance and costly repair fees.

i didn't list out the pros and cons because i don't think i will help you in making your decision. good luck in finding a decent good ride.:)

As long you maintained the WR200 well, it will be a very good machine to keep.

My previous WR200 never gave me any problems in my years of ownership.

Just the normal wear and tear items like chain/sprockets, brake pads, bearings etc.

It was a very good ride, plenty of power.

Good fuel consumption, easy handling and cheap to maintain.

I do miss my ex bike quite abit. :(

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Caught the touring bug once again!
