sianz.. i keep failing my practicals sia... almost all the subjects oso hav to retake.. argh.. so demoralizing.. i wan to get my license soon~

dont worry man! have u wonder why u always fail? is it because of skills or because u gan jiong den always make mistake? maybe running through the procedures in your mind before you attend lessons will help.....it's ok! be persistant! we will be awaiting you with your virgin ride k! if u wana buy a bike..post here and i can help you to view if i'm free.

Guys : there's an article on Lifestyle section today on safe riding by Mr Joseph Lee, pretty good because i practise them myself. In particular, i dun ride directly behind car on the roads because if anytime that E-brake, i will siam to the left or right side(depend on which side i'm closer to) because trust me, a bike can never ever brake shorter distance than a car. Of cos you must be very very aware of your surrounding because who knows if there's a bike squeezing at your blind spot, and you change to his lane abruptly to siam the car in front, you cause him to siam you also.

Everyday i see new things, i learn new things without fail.

btw he mention he can brake from 60km/h to standstill in 10m. You guys think possible assuming you minus off reaction time?

CONGRATS Aldemon~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:

thanks to our resident couple:smile:

regarding today's article, i personally practise the 2 finger on front brake esp when weaving through jams and traffic, u never know if another bike is doing the same thing so may need to have a quick-reaction brake. 2 fingers is enough to have an adequate brake as usually we are in slow speed.

I not sure bout the E-brake thingy, maybe next time can go 2nd link and try

*** Drag kings at first-ever NTU MotorFest ***

Get the chance to see one of the fastest cars in Singapore flexing its muscle; a ready-to-race Harley-Davidson - with record-breaking pace, at the most happening motorshow, the NTU MotorFest!

Prepare to come face-to-face with a pair of drag kings! Visitors to the first-ever NTU MotorFest will be able to get up close and personal with two machines that began life as relatively humble machinery, but were eventually modified to become monarchs in the sport of drag racing, where highly-tuned racers battle it out side-by-side in a contest of pure speed and power that lasts a quarter of a mile (about 400 metres).

The NTU MotorFest is a festival of motoring which promises special promotions for car buyers, and celebrates the passion and spectacle of cars and motorcycles large and small. Scheduled to take place in the weekend of March 25th to 26th at the Nanyang Auditorium and Quad.

As part of the MotorFest's display of exotic and high-performance vehicles, the organisers have managed to secure two highly different but equally pedigreed racing machines.

One of the fastest cars in Singapore(duh~)

The Garage R Evolution VI is a machine that should be feared by the likes of Ferrari and Porsche drivers. At Sepang, its best quarter-mile time was clocked at 10.54 seconds, a stunningly fast score. In comparison, a standard Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition would take an estimated 13.4 seconds to cover the same distance, while a fearsome Porsche 911 Turbo would require almost 12 seconds! This makes the Garage R Evolution VI easily one of the fastest cars in Singapore.

The fastest thing on two wheels? (yeah~)

As fast as the Garage R Evolution VI is, however, even it would have a tough time standing up to the pace set by the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer.

Designed to scorch pavement and destroy all comers, Harley-Davidson's Destroyer is the famed motorcycle manufacturer's first out-of-the-box drag racing motorcycle. Based on Harley's VRSC 'Street Rod' family of high-performance motorcycles and, tweaked by a renowned racing preparation company known as Custom Vehicle Operations, the standard Destroyer is capable of a quarter-mile run in under 10 seconds!

How's that for racing pedigree?

The NTU MotorFest will offer a rare chance to glimpse the Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle V-Rod Destroyer up close. Much the same applies to the Mitsubishi Garage R Evolution VI, because it exists to compete only on the track, and is simply not the kind of machine you see on public roads.

All the more reason to make your way down to the NTU MotorFest. It's not often one gets to meet with a King, let alone two...

FAST FACTS – NTU MotorFest

When: 25th – 26th March 2006 (Saturday and Sunday)

Where: The Nanyang Auditorium and Quad area, NTU

Time: 10am – 6pm

anyone interested to join in and see or race?

No more regrets.
