dun use WD40 coz it will corrode the linkages in ur chain. dun use petrol, coz its corrosive and expensive :D

 

anyway, either use engine oil to clean or diesel. Diesel will be a better choice beczuse it actually sort of 'melts' the dirt and watever dirty things tat are stucked at ur chain and will flow into the tray u put beneath while cleaning.

 

I cleaned my chain and helped 2 of my frens to clean their chains with diesel b4 at my house. they are happy now. one of them is The Fool aka fooz :D

otherwise hw do they remove rust rite?

 

u can use, provd u spray it everyday. cz wd40 will "dryup" the chain.

but dun tink u so hardworking.

i tink u onli provd the diesel. nv help to clean.

but i still haven hit the magical 400km yet leh.

 

sidenote: i took off my windshield, n FC drop to 22km/l... now onli 350-360 b4 reserve. experimental results not conclusive, but make sense thou.

 

moral of story: get a big windshield.

I was reading webbikeworld.com and it seems that even then the ang mohs thought that using wd40 was the correct thing to do. To be more accurate a bit, it's not that WD40 is corrosive but rather they strip away the lubricating agent completely.

 

anyway. was using wd40 for my rxz

used EO for my old S4 chain, but EO still makes the chain 'dirty' , think will try kerosene or diesel, also thinking if willing to fork out $10-$12 on a can of GT85

u can try turpentine or kerosene too~ i used kerosene to clean my chain..actually v lazy to clean chain cos v dirty...unless i can take out the whole chain..if not i wont bother to clean it.

:confused: normally i will use wd40 to clean... spray liao can see all the black stuff come out... then very shiok... after that wait for it to dry liao spray a coat of chain lube over it...
