So say Gurmit Singh (the actor) decides to go riding one day. Theoretically he could choose to wear a turban instead of a helmet correct?

correct. My colleague wear a turban on sunny days and a helmet on rainy days when he rides to work...:thumb:

My fren got fine $50 in poly campus for ridding as a pillion without his helmet. I guess it depends on who the security guard is and his mood.

Dear Sir, Thank you for your enquiry regarding the wearing of helmets bypillion riders. 2 Please note that a pillion riding on a motorcycle without wearing aprotective helmet commits an offence of Pillion Riding WIthout ProtectiveHelmet under Sec 74 (1) of the Road Traffic Act (RTA). This carries acomposition amount of up to $120, regardless of whether the pillion has adriving licence or not. If convicted, he is liable to a composition amountnot exceeding $200. If the rider fails to ensure that the pillion wears aprotective helmet, he is also liable to a composition amount of up to $120for an offence of Abetting Pillion Not Wearing Protective Helmet. 3 Motorcyclists and their pillions are especially vulnerable on theroads and constitute about half of all road fatalities. Ensuring roadsafety is not only the responsibility of the authorities; it is a personalresponsibility as well. Traffic Police would like to urge all motorcycliststo be extra careful on the roads and to don protective gear, includingwearing approved helmets. Together, we can make the roads safer foreveryone.
