Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Overheating Solution

To all BB family,

 

I just bought a 2001 BB, digital temperature easily goes up to 100 at night riding and when stopping easily 105 to 109. Wouldn't dare to think in the afternoon.

 

Old school boy who just came back to the scene after many years of "retiring" from bike. Hope you guys can help me out if this is normal. If not who or which bike shop best to fix this?

Hi Raw, welcome to the Blackbird community. Normal riding temp during day in the city is abt 98-100c and can reached 115 at stops. Night time shud get abt 88-94c. Check ur rad fins and make sure its not damaged or bent. U can use a toothpick to straighten those fins. If u have some spare cash, do coolant flush and replace the coolant.

Raw, save your engine by investing on a new radiator. Cost about $600 plus.
