Go down to Teck Thye (Braddell Rd). He's a shocks & fork specialist. Not advised to ride wid leaking fork as u can scratch the inner part of ya fork! Den u gotta change ya whole fork! An experience i had on ma RXS115.So imagine how much wld a superfour fork cost?

it's alrite to ride with a leaking fork, but don't prolong the riding. fix the leak as soon as possible, reason being the amount of fork oil in the fork will decrease due to the leak, and damping will be affected.

with regards to the part where the inner fork tubes are scratched, it would be more likely a case of worned fork bushings than leaky seals.

suspensions are recommended to be serviced every 12-18mths depending on your riding style.

cheers!

Does anyone know the $60 replace front fork withmaxima only at racewerk does it mean change all the fork seals and replace with maxima fork oil or just replace the fork oil?

i saw this at the component listing thread.

not true. routine servicing for your suspensions ensures that your suspension is performing at its best all the time. suspension fluid do break down over time due to the damping effect that it induces.

racewerk would be more than appropriate to be answered by racewerks. but i think it's just the replacement of fork oil and the labour charges.

Your case is no more servcing...its that + change of fork seal and you have to change them in pairs. Here is what they do....

Remove the pair of forks from your bike and disassemble your fork set into three parts. The removeable of the fork oil seal is the hardest and do how they remove it and make sure the mechanic DONT SCRATCH or NICK the upper stanchion tube (that's the upper tube of your fork).

Draining and cleaning of fork oil off the lower stancjion tube, spring (petrol washed) and inner stanchion fork tubes. Don't have to replace the spring normally unless you want harder ones from 3 party market. The only thing that need to be replaced are a pair of new fork seal, fork oil and MAY BE the soft metal spacer (consider a seal also that seat just above the lower stanchion tube).

...errr..that's it lor. Oh..you can ride your faulty fork bike ther...just avoid harsh bumpy road and avoid hard front braking. Cost should be less than $150.00 lah including parts...but got people do at $90.00.

Good luck...and remember..make they sure they don't nick your upper stanchion tube while removing the seal..a small 0.0008mm also cannot.

Stupid Hurts!.:giddy:Speed doesn't kill, mistakes does :faint:

Go to Teck Thye..he's the best in this...of course IMHO. He would disassemble every component, eash clean, add spacer to spring(optional but recommended), replace seal and damper(if bad), recharge nitro and oil replacement..and this is gonna set you back $300.00. I had mine done 5 years ago and shock still good.

But do let him study your fork first..don't tell him what you want to do....but rather only what you are experiencing while riding. His name is David..one of the two pioneer in this specialised trade.
