Clutch cable adjustment helps. I know ppl been talking about oil giving smoother gear changing but that is only very partial.

Could be due to worn out clutch plates.

dude check your clutch freeplay adjustments. if its hard to change, try setting more free play on the clutch, ie, clutch-engine engagement further away. it worked for me. or, spray some wd-40 at the footrest gears. try doing these first cos its all free

Yes WD40 spread to the footrest is done before and it does not work at all. Freeplay adjust almost to almost fully. So now my palm is almost wide open to clutch in :thumb:

What about the clutch cable free play adjustment of the lower one?(not the handle side)...did you use that? If so and it is almost to the end, afraid your clutch wear out liao.

before oil change, was it as hard to engage gears?

if the problem only arise after you change oil, then it's probably the difference in viscosity, condition and mileage of the oil

and when you change gears, is it with clutch or clutchless?

if you find it really hard to engage gears when you shift clutchless, then it's not really the clutch lever freeplay or clutch plates worn out

try to give us more scenarios and exactly how and what happen

it'll help us narrow down to exactly what is your problem...

hope it helps

Do check your gear shift level first. The clam part that lock by a lock nut to your level shaft may be loose or even missing. have it tighten if it is othrwise, all the "teeth" for both lever and shaft is gonna get smoothen. Other than this...not sure whatesle can possibly be wrong.

1) over top up of EO.

2) incomplete depression of clutch lever. (freeplay or worn clutch cable)

3) worn clutch plates.

4) improper gear clearance. (inside gearbox)

5) worn gears.

Most common being from 1 to 5.

Other issue you might wanna check could be

1) entangled clutch cable.

2) improperly secured gear lever.

Posted
doe the sprocket affect the gears??

no...

the gears which i refered to are those which are inside your gearbox.

refer to attached for clearer understanding.

Improper clearance are like... if two gears are very close to each other without allowance, it will be very difficult to "squeeze" the teeth to sit together. Hence the cause of a tough gear change.

For tool if you need..jsut a plier wide enough to grip the diameter of the lock nut..probably it may have some rust..any WD4d type penetrating lube should help. If no plier, use a cotton type cloth and fold an extra layer and have a good grip and turn..turning it out is anti-clockwise.

moving of my 1st&2nd gear has a knocking noise, the rest of my 3th gear& above has no sound

I think more likely its something loose..could even be engine mount to body bolt. However do try and see if it comes again when bike is running stationary. If you have double stand..let the engine run and change into 1st and 2nd gear and see if you can zero into where the sound is coming from..it help us to help you troubleshoot.

Could it be ur drive chain too loose?

Could it be the bracket thats holding your crash bar not secure correctly?

think could be above or some loose nuts or screws...
