Palmer..

Super respect to you for your ride, courage, determination and inspiration..

the only solo ride i have done in my short riding career was to taiping, cameron, genting, KL, port dickson, melaka and then back home for 8 days.. while i enjoyed the ride tremendously, there were times that i really felt alone and even asked myself what the heck i was doing at some points!

thanx for sharing the beauty of northern thailand and that is something i look forward to doing in the near future i hope! :thumb:

thanx again for everything!

peace

Anw pam, do you have any idea that can bike go through vietnam/laos to china? But not as detailed as your trip. I got a idea of riding back to HongKong few years later after reading up your solo trip! :thumb:

Any advise?

For Laos it is possible without much hassle, not too sure about Vietnam yet for big bikes though. Been trying to find out more info for Vietnam. For entry to China, it is difficult and expensive, only a select few in SG have gone through that. Hope this info helps.

It's the paperwork for the Vehicle that is the major problem. For rider, no issues.

Same here when I tried to enter Myanmar with my SG registered bike, bike was rejected but rider was accepted into the country, so I had to turn back south.

the most difficult part for many riders is riding alone and packing everything you require on the bike. You need to carry your own medical supplies, tools, spare parts etc when this is usually spread out over the team members in a group ride. the loneliness really hits you after a few days. Fortunately I am rather used to it.

Just do it if you are able to. Make sure your bike is well maintained.
