I bought my pulsar in Aug, so far no major problem, but felt the tyre quite skid when ride on wet road, any solusions? One of my friend already change the rear tyre to a bridgestone one, $85 for rear tyre, $75 for front tyre, universal said less skid, should i change it also?

I also looking for a pair of small side box to install on my pulsar, any suggestion and how much the cost?

I strongly recommend that u change ur tyres in view of the wet weather nowadays. For a pair of Bridgestone Battlax BT39 (made in Japan, 110/80 rear, 90/80 front), $160 is the lowest u can get (same price as at LAB & HKL). To me, it's a small price to pay compared to medical and repair costs in the event of an accident. Better tyres are also useful in dry conditions as u get better braking and cornering performance.

Having said that, it must be emphasised that having good tyres is not enough to ensure ur safety if u ride in the wet the same way as u would in dry conditions.

With regards to the side boxes, u can check with Goof as he has installed a pair on his Pulsar.

Hi all... I have some small problems with my pulsar. I wonder if u all have the same problems?

1. My seat has got some small holes. I think its becos of the cats around the carpark resting on my bike and their claws poke into the seat. Any idea where to change seats?

2. Nowadays its abit hard for me to crank the engine. Takes 5-6 cranks before the engine starts. Sometimes it doesnt even start and i have to kick-start it. Is it becos of the cold weather recently?

=) Hope u guys can offer me some advice... Thanks!

1. Check with Goof or Jeffaw regarding rewrapping of seat.

2. 2 things u can do:

- use choke. Just dun forget to return choke lever to OFF position before moving off.

- when cranking, press d electric starter button longer, but not more than 5 sec. If need to recrank, wait for 15 sec b4 u recrank.

For me, it's kinda weird. No prob at all when cold starting the engine b4 1st ride of the day or after stopping for many hrs. But when re-starting the engine after a short stop or 1-2 hrs later, need to recrank my engine sometimes.

Cranking the engine, those take a few times.. due to the quality of your oil also.. but not the main reason lah.. basically cos of cold starts.. but for me.. i have no problems at all for this rainy season.. for me i dun use choke.. i jus throttle in a bit..cos i dun want my bike to get use to choke..

seat cover.. check out at Eugine.. its along serangoon road, near LAB, its jus infront of Macdonald's. very cheap and nice designs.

Tyre.. using Bridgestone Battlax, is no doubt very good.. good for wet weather.. still grip well... but all this skid and all, it still up to the rider..

your riding skills and also take the good habit u learn in skools.

i've been using the stock tyres.. last long but grip not so great.

but Bridgestone Battlax grip is excellent but worn of faster.

I support what Bro Goof said, its ur riding skill that are more critical and of course better quality tyre ensure better safety. my stock tyre is already 1 yr old and still good..so far it havent give me a headache.

The seat wrap will cost about $35 for 3 colours. MIne cost $40 bcos of the white lining.

I do recommend u guys going there.look at mine below.Anyway nowadays saw quite a number of bike having those blurrish look..now sure whether theres a grip to it or not.

I wanted to change the world. But I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself.

WOw....its been a long time since i last posted. Had a fall with my bike during last week of November. That was the begining of the rainy season. I agree its all up to the riders skill. I fell on the road cos of a car that suddenly wanted to change lane but didn. SO i used my front brake according to my stupid reaction and the next thing i knew, i fell to the left and slide all the way with my bike. That was just a cool stunt like a movie scene.

Lucky my headlights was the only thing scratch. My crash bar took all the damage. I removed it yesterday only. Since then i been having a slight phobia with turns. Then after i went for my 2nd servicing, i decided to change to bridgestone battlax for my rear. Gonna wait for next mth to change the front too. The grip is definately there and my turns is more stable now. Maybe its just in the mind. But sometimes, these minor changes can affect how u think of your bike, it gain my confidence again. So thats quite an experience for me. ITs good to experience such things just to gain more riding experience.

Im kinda of interested in spicing up the bike. No need go fast.....just look cool can already. Im happy with the fuel consumption im having every mth. $50 is the max i spend every mth for 2 top ups @ SPC.

Anyway, i looking to change the seat cover as well, but im not the sort who knows where to go for such things. SO anyone can suggest a shop i can head to? Im also looking for other kinds of modifications to the looks of the Pulsar. But legal ones la. Any bro out there care to share with me your experience in your Pulsar appearance mods?

i dun have a pic of my box but mine is the same as Givi side box.

but the bracket is different. my bracket is custom made, cos i want the box to be as close as possible to my bike so it won't look so bulky from the front view so still can go thru inbetween cars during jam.

the side boxes, i got it from my fren. he gave it to me. but if u dun mind a secondhand side box, check out the garage sale thread. sure there's a few guys out there selling them.

cheers

That's strange cos Bajaj bikes r not sold in M'sia. For them to order Bajaj parts can mean only 1 thing - more n more S'pore Bajaj bikers r going over to JB motordiams.

oh ya....now i know why. thanks guys. i was like wondering something looks weird but im not sure wat is it. but slowly2 upgrade i think. wait for next month pay.

the brakes are ok. i went to test ride a few rounds when they are done and made them adjust the brakes like 3 times before im happy with it. now its ok. however, i cant use the rear brake meter anymore cos my brake "stick" (the metal piece joining the brake and the foot pedal, sorry dun know what its called) is turn upside down. now that stick its above the axle rather than below. have to adjust to make the barake makan more.

btw bro roadrunner, i tink what u said is true. that day i went i saw 2 pulsars at ah boy and 1 at the first shop on the street.
