Hi guys,

i have bought grounding cables and clips. i am planning to do a 5 point grounding to my bike (after spending 30mins or so looking at potential places to ground).

after the 5 point grounding, i will update n feedback on the performance and improvements if any :D

Hey bro, i dun get it what it's used for?..sorry for my ignorant but care to explain it?

from what i have learnt, grounding reduces noise frequency. brings all eddy currents back to battery immediately.

it improves fuel consumption and improves power die to the fact that SPARK PLUGS FIRE MORE POWERFULLY AND EFFICIENTLY :D headlight, brake lights, speedo ligths and signal lights bound to light brighter.

i have done 4 point ground already. so far, the engine brake decrease, not so much tarik feeling. fuel consumption im still monitoring. power wise, cant feel any diff. but bike is smoother by aaaaa biiittttt abt 5% less vibration also.

im actually more concerned abt the fuel consumption rather den power. i will post some pictures after i get home.

1. headlamp grounding - done

2. coil for spark plug - done

3. coil for 2nd plug -done

4. magneto - done

5. brake light frame - need to buy more grouding cables and lugs :D

No more regrets.

First u need some lugs

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/1223/g83ob.jpg

2ndly u need some soldering tools

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/425/g103vl.jpg

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/6783/g112wi.jpg

3rdly, u need some climping tools, some grounding wires, some heat sleeves..

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/6213/g93vf.jpg

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/5231/g126wa.jpg

and you r done with ur grounding cables!!

next u need to open up ur tank

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/3083/g11uv.jpg

grounding point 1: magneto

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/1236/g31yf.jpg

point 2 and 3: coils for both plugs (both under tank)

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/9290/g27ko.jpg

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/2988/g49yu.jpg

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/2205/g51lm.jpg

point 4 : headlamp frame

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/5695/g65uh.jpg

bring all points to ground point. magneto direct to -ve of battery. the rest to body frame. the pointer showing the common ground point for the rest of the cables is actually connected to the -ve of battery. so u can ground there. maybe u can open up ur right side cover to understand wat im trying to say here

http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/2940/g76jl.jpg

ground point 5: rear brake lamp. haven ground yet coz not enough wire. but im planning to use the blue ones shown below:

another mod which i tink u guys shld do. buy a pair of magmum horns at $18. just connect it directly to replace ur pair of stock horns.

a very simple affair. dun need extra wirings or anything. just 2 brackets and screws n nuts (all provided in the $18 horn package)

where to buy the horns? autobac at bukit batok, selling car accessories. actually the horns are meant for cars la. but IT IS FREAKING LOUD. u can ask goofrider

ahhaahhhah. but becareful when mounting the horns. dun face it upwards, prevent collecting rain water

No more regrets.

name yr price for the grounding plus cables brader paiseh, may i know?

horns will fail inspection. coz too loud. but once inspection replace them with stock horns. anyway, its just a once a yr affair after the first 3 yrs.

the grounding cable u can do urself, its cheap. our bike needs at least 3metres. and 10 lugs. that will be total around $15. got red and black to choose. but i tink red nice :D den u got to buy soldering tools. $15. soldering iron tink around $2-5 (i used my workshop one haha). climping tools i also use my workshop. but can be found outside around $10. rubber heat sleeve for the insulating ends is 50cents per piece.

hope it gives a clear idea. hmm.. and also tools to open up the bike which i did at my wksp. :p and time, it takes abt 1hour 30mins (did it during my work also :p)

No more regrets.

bro waadee, maybe u dun do the gronding first. wait for my feedback on fuel consumption. coz from wat i learnt, grounding has got effect only on cars, which means bigger cc engines and apparently bigger cc bikes.

for now i can only feel a few improvements after 4 pt grounding:

1. eng brake lessen by a bit

2. less vibration

3. rpm runs lower by 300rpm instead of usual rpm.

fuel consumtion still pending

response still the same

cant feel any improvement on smoothness of eng

metre still the same (cant see any brighter)

headlight, i cant compare coz mine not stock.

rear light and signal.. also cant see any diff

No more regrets.

Guys, what are the dimensions of the Pulsar's stock tyres (both front and rear)?

For tyre upgrading to Battlax BT39, any recommendation on the dimensions of the tyres to get?

i also ask frens at work abt grouning.. they also give the same answer.. works only on bigger cc motor vehicle.

but its ways cheaper then installing impedance stabliser...

anyway.. where are the points to connect the cables??

wat i mean here doesnt mean it does not work for smaller cc bikes. wat i mean is for smaller cc bikes, cant really feel any effect after grounding. to small to be seen or felt maybe.

5 points. thought i stated in the previous post?

headlamp, brake light frame, magneto, coils x2 for both plugs

No more regrets.

wadee>> our stock horn is loud enough lah.. unless u want to scare the hell of all the taxi driver.. hehe.. i heard tha horn from Paiseh.. KNN super loud!

well maybe i will do the grounding but dun think i can do by myself.. me not good in electrical.. but manufacturing stuffs can lah.. coz i'm a Manufac student.. not electrical. hah!

i would love either red or if have white wire. neat!

Just bought a red Pulsar from Universal Motors yesterday afternoon. Collecting tomorrow morning since I'm not free today.

Machine price OTR - $5000 (everything in, box not included)

Insurance - Mitsui TPFT at $280 (35 yrs old, new rider)

Upgrade to Bridgestone Battlax BT39 tyres - $120

Freebies - raincoat, bike cover, P-plates, discs for road tax and parking coupons

Forego free helmet - less $30

Net total - $5370

By the way, the engine oil for the Pulsar, is it 15W40 or 20W50?

Bro waadee, u live in CCK and ur gf lives in P. Ris, rite? Well, I live in Bt Batok and my gf lives in P. Ris too. So maybe we can ride our Pulsars together when meeting our gfs. Haha!

Another coincidence - my gf lives in P. Ris St. 21 - same street as Bro Jeffaw!

Looks like the 3 of us can have frequent Pulsar riders' mini-gathering at P. Ris.

Hahaha!
