btw today morning was raining..so i din get to service my bike @ universal again..but went to the bike shop @ my office building..added hazard lights too..hehe..and change to the denso spark plugs to test test..anyway he took out the champion 1 and it was all black already.. gotta work liao..cya guys!

eh actually i also duno how much izzit..the guy charge me total $34..i only know 2 denso spark plug $10, then hazard light and changing of engine oil cover the rest..he place the switch @ the left handle bar, then hazard lights works only when engine on, switch on, and signal either left or right...so if u accidentally on the switch, and try to signal left or right its also hazard lights..hehe..

so that mean the price of making a hazard light is less than 15 buckz. that cheap also wat.. well for those dun wanna go JB, can do at Universal. how tomrrow?

Don't really post on this forum. I've been lurking around reading up more info on bikes. Am currently interested in getting a Class 2B bike (my first!).

 

Was considering Daelim Roadwin 125cc but in the end I've settled on Bajaj Pulsar DTS-i 180cc. I've read most of the forums on this bike (listed below) and it looks favorable (affordable, low comsumption, decent handling, etc). Fits my needs to as I only need the bike to get around.

 

As I've never purchased a bike I was wondering if you folks can offer some tips? I will sincerely appreciate it.

 

Here are some questions I hope you can help me answer:

 

01) Should I buy 1st hand or 2nd hand?

Personally I prefer 1st hand as the maintenance won't be much. However, people advise me to get 2nd hand as the resale value for 1st hand isn't very good.

 

02) Am buying on installment. Should I drag it?

A friend of mine, whose been riding for sometime, advised me to take a long-term installment with low downpayment. The logic being that when I eventually sell the bike, perhaps 1 and a half years from now when I intend to get a Class 2A bike, it'll be easier.

 

03) Where to buy from?

I've heard alot of stories of shops ripping off customers. Any good locations to recommend?

 

These are just some of the questions which cross my mind. Again I appreciate any advise the wise bikers here can share.

every since the New Paper published the article on Pulsar, more ppl check it out on it. even my fren was like considering buying it coz of the fuel consumption.

 

ok, basically those rider who ride pulsar are basically going for the low maintainace and also the fuel comsumption. mostly thing two things..

 

reason u dun see much of 'him' is coz alot of newbie 2b rider perfer sport bike, coz

chicks will glue to them, even scramblers... but hey, if u get the this bike, there's lotsa mod and do up. and u can even make your pulsar look like super four.

 

check out the picture of the forum members. nice right? especially the first bike with the word 'the godfather' at the belly pan, very nice right the bike.. ahem ahem!!!

 

 

anyway about insurance, ot good to have a first party insurance where it cover all stuffs.

 

Correct me if i'm wrong,

 

1st Party;

Covers.... accident, stolen, burn.

 

2nd Party;

Covers.... stolen, burn.

 

3rd Party;

Covers.... burn.

so to yours questions.

 

1. Obviously it much better to get a brand new bike, why? cozt you're the first to handle it and you'll know whats wrong if your bike need attention.. like for example, how come the fuel consumption i always get below 40km.litre.. if you're the first rider, maybe u will have to adjust your riding stlye or something, but if you bought a second hand bike, two possible reason, your style of riding ot the previous owner do something to the bikie previously. you know what i mean.

 

2. To some extend what your fren say its true.. if you plan to use this bike for a short while, than maybe u can do that. coz when u wanna sell away, someone else can jus COI the bike with an afforable installment. but you know lah if you drag longer the interest is much more. 5% per annum.

 

 

3. well if u go back a few pages, one of the active forum guy list down all the shops with phone numbers on hwere you can fine pulsar. what u can do is, call them up one buy one, drop down all the detaisl, make a comparison and waalaaaa!

 

question to ask;

 

1. How much is the machine price?

 

2. Does it comes with;

a) I.U.

b) Box and rack

c) crash bar (cos some of the shop remove it and sell you separately, by right it comes with it. even u dun want, jus take it, maybe can give me.. hehe)

d) any free raincoat? bike cover? helmet?

 

all this you must ask. and before u ask all this, say u interested to buy the bike but wanna know a few question before u come down.. if not they won't entertain you. they will say, you want you come down..

brader brams the 220 cc version exhaust dam power lah.. i cant sleep thinking abt the exhaust.

 

and the 220 got rear disc brakes!! dam designers neve put in into the 180...

Bro cephelix,since ur getting 1st hand(anyway dun think there's any 2nd hand pulsar around), its better to get 1st party or 2nd party at least for the first few years cos u may never know what will happen next. 3rd party not advisable for new bike unless ur so confident nothing will happen to bike.

 

Had a bad incident with my old RXZ with 3rd party insurance,got hit by a van but lost the case....unable to claim anything, the stupid van driver manage to claim $1k and had to fork out around $1K to redo the bike.Worst still, NCD lost, insurance premium increases to more than double.overall if ur having a 3rd party insurance and had an accident,its meant for the other party to claim against you and you can't claim anything.

shouldn't be a problems. i have faith in you to do the hazard lights.

 

anyway you should take a look at how my hazard lights wire going on that day than you sure can DIY.

bajaj pulsar is a good investment.. nex yr iam taking 2a.. but iam sticking to pulsar... reason.. 2a bikes are ex to get ex to maintain.. 2a got speed but pulsar is enuff to get u summon in spore.

actually ah, i think i also can do if i open my head fairing out. coz all i see is that he just use one long wire and the switch. thats all.. so if i can see where the wire end. sure can.

hazzard lights will be flicker at the signals lights..

its not an additional lights.
