Hmmm nvr try b4 by pushing front/back to shift the struck neutral gear to 1st gear. mayb will try it when i got struck again. A few times i didi try to kick up gear but its very hard or impossible to kick up as it is like locked ... so i keep stepping on it hoping it can change to gear 1 without causing an obstruction ... but sometimes it did turn out to b an obstruction after trafic light turn green n i am still in neutral.

Bro,if i encountered this usually i will open my trottle slighty then clutch in and out while stepping on the gear lever.works well for me.

for neutral issue,i dun usually throw my clutch after the green light turn on,make it a habit to release it slowly so when its a false neutral u can immediately clutch in to avoid ur engine to stall and make urself looks stupid.

Btw i saw an older version of our recent pulsar always at my company carpark.not sure whether contrators or my company employee.saw a few difference

1 - the logo that we have is totally different

2 - engine is not black, mixture of silver and black

3 - spoke rims instead of sports rim

4 - darker dull blue colour instead of the bright blue

havent go and inspect fully but can see the fellow did not do any facial modification and

keeping it in stock mode.too bad havent get to meet the guy yet.

As his license no is FZ43XXQ,i assume he got the bike somewhere either early or middle 2005 cos mine 98XX is in dec and also saw an uncle with our version with plate no. 84XX.so i assume our pulsar version was in only middle of 2005 onwards.

My fren told me that his fren bought a pulsar tank-bra at Lim Ah Boy.Anyone can confirm/know they are selling them?...heard its going for $30.hopefully they do have it and with silver colour as well cos my tank is slowly getting all the small scratches.

Talking about color of pulsar ... saw a maroon color pulsar when i went for my 2nd servicing recently ... or can called it dark red .... hmmm seems like i am lucky to have my pulsar in cocktail red ... well no idea y my neutral problem is getting serious this time ... happen quite often than the 1st n 2nd month.

Well nowadays i will start to throttle a bit to cek if its at neutral or at gear-1 ... and because of getting out of control decided not to do neutral even at stopping when traffic light = red. Well did tried the matter moving in front/back but sometimes dont work ... hmmm so now what i did is to tried all methods even throttle abit or tried to get the gear to gear-2 to kill the neutral.

Pulsar's fuel tank is designed in detrimental ergonomics to male's health? I think you got to ride any class 2A/2 sportsbike to find out what's really harmful.

Having ridden many classes of bike (Vespa, Wave, Phantom, S4, Desperado, SV650, GSX750, R1.. just to name a few) myself, I think Pulsar is one of the best bike to ride.

As everyone knows, the Pulsar has a humongous fuel tank. I can easily pump it up to 18~20 litres despite the claimed 15 litres in the specifications. 900km of mileage per tank is easily achievable, how easy going is that on your wallet! Its sitting posture is one of the best that I've ridden, even better than Phantom(I feel). It doesn't slouches your back, probably abit. The fuel tank has enough protrusion for your thighs to grab for better feel of manoevuering.

Its suspension is world class for road use. Guys who have ridden cls 2 sportsbike know what I mean. The suspension on the Pulsar is soft, and with damping settings manufactured just right to our road's condition (Singapore rd is actually quite f up). A ride on the Pulsar is almost vertically linear on most badly paved roads. Though its corning clearance is probably any hardcore rider's lament, but this bike is designed for the road. Pillions have feedback to me that the ride feels too bouncy to them, but somehow the rider feels unaffected. Probably the front has a stronger suspension that causes a pivot movement from the front.

The pulsar has one of the best torque out of all the smaller classes bike I have ridden. Not many 2B bikes allow your rider to have punch for shifting in the 2~3k rpm range, but the Pulsar can. Its rideability is fantastic. It probably has a heavy fly wheel that makes the engine feels very smooth when chucking on or off the throttle. It has the ability to move from any range of the tacho. The acceleration might be abit dull in comparison to other bikes, it might lack of brute to pull it off from a naught, but it really is a very linear bike for road use. On other 2B bikes, I can barely hit the 100~110 range with a pillion, but it is no problem for the Pulsar. Having the bike pushed at high revs all the while, I'm still getting a neat ~45km/litre of mileage.

Aesthetic wise, its design is the first of its kind. In my opinion, it's one of the slickest 2B bike ever produced (other than the new Aprilia RS125). However, I find the paintjob abit weak. There seems to be a dot of exfoliation on my fuel tank paint, being someone who's pretty anal about the looks of my bikes, I'm sure I didn't cause it, it's vexing! Does this happen to anyone?

I'm not sure if anyone has encountered this before also, the gear box seems to be abit unrefined as well. The feel for the gear shifts seems abit vague and soft, you barely know if you have shifted. The gear shafts tend to stuck in between gears (between 2nd & 3rd) when shifting up from 1st gear. Then I had to drop the gear again inorder to shift to the intended 2nd gear. The clutch biting point tends to be variable also. I believe the clutch plates/springs are abit inconsistent, sometimes I have to release more or less on the clutch lever inorder to get the biting point. Upon the first few rides of the bike, I stalled my bike as I'm unsure of the biting point. Quite pain in the ass for unexperienced riders, but it's not a major problem.

I guess having ridden bigger bikes, there is not so much complains about the performance aspects of the bike. The big fuel tank and super economic fuel consumption of the bike already wins EVERYTHING hands down. :)

Yeap, not forgetting its responsive brakes as well. It really has one of the most grippiest brakes compared to all classes of bikes that I have ever used (Yeap, even the S4/R1.. etc). Ofcourse the weight contributes to its stopping capability. But even in comparison with bikes of its own class, it definitely is in the top of its league. For someone who uses a track honed style of 2 fingers braking, its brakes are very effective.

Due to its lightweight and rake setup, it's a very flickable bike. The turn-ins are fast and mid corners stability is fantastic. Probably achieved by the soft rear and consistent damping. But then again, this would mean straight line high speed stability could be jeopardised. It is a neat machine for town rides.

Only the OEM tyres are abit in doubt. I haven't exactly tested the limits of its tyre traction, but I did break off once on the front due to a slightly abrupt braking in the wet. Maybe one should consider changing its tyres after getting a Pulsar.

Hi pulsar riders, my friend might be interested in getting this bike. He wanna know whether its using rear disc or drum brakes?

And this bike able to hit 120km/h on expressway? Is it unstable on this speed?

It shouldn't be a problem to hit 120, but it is definitely not designed to travel on 120 for a prolonged period of time.

Can hit 120km/h if you change rear sprocket to smaller one by 2/4 size down. But pick up will be less power. If always travel on expressway is recommended, if mostly on city road don't do it.
