i think height is the criteria...

may be just like bus fares...max 1m? free ride...above pay...

so as your grandpa says as long feet can touch footrest ok lah,,hehe maybe head must be big enough to fit helmet...

Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time:dot:

you guys do realize that giving the man the wrong information could result in him breaching the road traffic rules, not to mention risking his or somebody else's kid 's life if he were to act on it. The minimum age is 10 years old according to Rule 36 of the Road Traffic Rules. If you do not know, do NOT guess - telling some traffic police officer that "I heard about it from SBF" is not exculpatory, nor is it good for this forum. I suppose he'll have to use his own common sense as to whether even a 10 year old kid or that kid in particular is physically able to pillion.

If you want to see it in "black and white", as it were, you can find it here at http://www.lawnet.com.sg, under subsidiary legislation "Road Traffic Rules". Unless you're an account holder, you'll have to purchase access to the database in hourly blocks. Or... you could take my word for it.

Dear Sir / Ma'am

I refer to your email of 23 Oct 06.

There is no height or weight limit and the age limit to ride as pillion on

a motorbike is 10 yrs old and above.

Just my personal opinion.

Even though the legal age for pillion is 10 yrs old.

I feel that it's best not to pillion kids for safety sake.

Even though u might be careful, but shits still happens.

I remeber 2 years ago, my personal accident (without pillion. alone)

I kanna langah by lorry (cabstar type) even though I was travelling at legal normal speed less than 50km/h.

I was coming to a normal stop behind another car. due to the red light in front

Normal stop means normal braking and stopping behind a car as in normal every day scenario. Nothing agressive.

Yet the moment I stop, The lorry hit me from behind hard that The rear came up like a stoppie before falling on the side (I was holding on to my brakes, Standard paractise for me)

If not for he facts that I'm holding to my brakes, I would have hit the car in front.

Coming back to the topic, What if I was pillioning a kid back then? The visual and scenario will be unthinkable.

riding bike alone or with pillion is dangerous enough, u must be prepared when u hit the roads

The minimum age is 8, check your Traffic Police book.

this is confusing but most said 10 years old, guess it's better to stick with 10 years old as minimum age limit
