Hi guys,

I went over a super duper big pothole (it looks more like a crater ) on Msia trunk road and now I have a dent on my front rim...

1. Is there any safety implications if I leave it as it is?

3. Will this dent cause the tire to leak air/lose pressure?

2. If I have to hit it back in shape, any shops to recommend and what is the price range like? (based on your experience)

Here's how the dent looks like....

yes, most workshops send to metalwork for rim repair, then they will do paint job and blalancing, fixing back.

the guy at unique said they can send for repair at metal workshop and quote me about 70$ including paint job..

$70 including the job done at the metal workshop + workmanship at the bikeshop (i.e. removing/installing wheel, balancing, touching up) ???

occasionally bottom-ing out wouldn't have any damage to your suspension. it just means that the suspension has reached its full stroke length.

however, constant bottoming out will have damages to the suspension internals.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

I had my rims pressed back to shape at Sanfu motors when I ran over a big piece of rock on the road.

Yours is not as bad as mine. Paid $80 for on the spot repair. Took them less than 40mins to take out front wheel, pressing, fix back tyre + balancing. It won't be 100% as original but good enough to use back.

Can look around for second hand rims or from scrapyard bro... Just need check wheel alignment before purchase...balancing do later when u install the tyres. The dent I had on my rim was indeed scary coz my bike flew through the air for a second when it hit the rock...luckily got close throttle and tap brake a bit and follow the skid.
