help! cannot renew road tax..

firstly i hope this is in the right section.. if not im real sorry..

 

Heres my problem:

My road tax expires tmr (180308). my insurance expires (030408).

So first step is must have valid insurance to renew road tax. I went last sat (150308)to renew insurance with AXA.

note: i change insurance company due to EXTREME price difference.

They issued me a piece of paper that states "Motor cover note", "schedule" followed by signature of the insurer. (all on same page)

 

I tried to renew road tax during the weekend but states "this vehicle has no/insufficient insurance coverage". so i thought, maybe sat cannot enter insurance information into system..

Thus today after work i try to renew again.. SAME PROBLEM!!!

i tried calling the insurance company but no answer.. probably went home le..

 

I am guessing that because my sheet is a "schedule" thus not valid insurance.. im not very sure about this.. the road tax renewal letter says " an insruance schedule is not acceptable for renewal purpose"

 

So now, what do i do?!?!?!?!

if i call the insurance company tomorrow they cant do anything about it then how??

You tried to renew the road tax online? If so, it will take a few working days for the insurance information to be updated in the LTA system. Best bet is to renew in person at the post office or at the renewal centres, so that you can show them the cover note.

 

If you want to do online renewal it's best to do it early because of the admin processing time between the insurance companies and LTA.

just now tried to renew at singpost.. but i didnt know need to bring the renewal letter.. pengz.

 

so my 2nd question is: renew in person at singpost can be done with the insurance schedule?

Hi I had the same problem too.

KNN both place push here push there, but when no road tax CCB everybody come out to catch, says your own fault never update...

 

So I went all the way down to NTUC link at Raffles place, One Marina Boulevard's customer service updated BOTH road tax and insurance at the same counter.

i thought u can renew ur roadtax at the insurance company.

no need so troublesome go so many places

when paying for insurance, just bring along the blue rd tax disc along

tell them u also paying for rod tax they will just do it for u.

hmmx... i last time also kanna same as u. need 3-4workin day den LTA will update one.. so means u will be payin more for ur road tax . cos u renew late

or anotherway is to bring down to LTA and renew.with ur insurance cert etc..

for me i juz use my bikeshop help me settle insurance, den i go back n take the paper, den go down LTA do rd tax...

anyway

i was late by 25 days n i didnt really notice the rd tax expire le until i relax one day at home.. hwhahwhahw

you can go to bike shop... or better still, go straight down to the insurance company.

 

so let's assume you're intending to renew your road tax for 6 months till 170908... what the insurance company SHOULD do, is to extend your insurance till 170908 just nice. and what you should pay is to pay the same rate as your current insurance premium... ((annual premium paid / 365) * number of insurance days extended)...

 

hope this help, cuz i recently went through the same thing with NTUC Income.

btw... u shld extend ur insurance to 18/09/08... juz tat u must pay the for the extension period la... n the extension is only about an hour work... juz take ur extended insurance 2day n renew road tax online...

i tried to renew my road tax online but they say i have no/insufficient insurance coverage for renewal period.. i took my my insurance papers it puts till end of sept this year.. still not enough?

Yes, not enough.

 

My insurance until end sept also they say not enough, must cover until 2009.

Just want to renew road tax until June 2008, then take 2A, also they not flexible...

the ins. branch shd able to renew ur rd tax for u... juz bring along rd tax disc, pay for ins renewal + rd tax renewal fees...
