I do agree that old bikes like WR200 bound to have problems here and there.....but then...which old bike is problem free?....even new bikes need maintenance.....wear and tear over >10yrs sure to have unless previous owners have been taking great care and replace parts accordingly....

But no....doesn't mean old bike spoil easily...it depends on how owner take cares of it.....WR2 or the XR4 is a classic example...treat them good and they are bullet-proof....try a KTM...yes, prob the older ones tend to give way more often...but then, if u maintain a KTM well, I'm sure it will serve u well too....but the dollars put into maintaining KTM vs WR2 sure higher.

But sad fact is where got brand new WR200?....if u compare a 7-8yrs old KTM200 or Gas Gas 200....also same thing..problem here and there...and parts are so much more expensive and their maintenance frequency are higher then WR200 for sure

Since this guy says old bike high maintenance, then he can consider buy brand new bike then

Its funny.

I've reread what the guy says over and over and I couldn't find the word 'junk' in it.

It seems in fact he is keen to get a WR200 again.

Looks like you're putting words into someone's mouth.

Best part is, you yourself is doing it what you claim he is trying to do pretty often in the Garage Sales....

in my opinion, wr200 is the first 2-stroke bike many 2b young inexperienced riders will take up. most (not all) know **** before deciding on a 2stroker. many of these young riders also use their wr just for transportation. Resulting in heavy wear and tear cumulating with their lack of knowledge and funds (perhaps) for proper maintainance and replacing worn parts.

ktm200 generally have less issues cos not many would want it as transport and not many feel they can afford the maintainance compared to wr200. Hence i assume that there are more "well maintained" ktm200s out there compared to wr200s. Of course we shall not talk about the bikes found in shops hehe

then again there are those exceptional guys who take care of their wr200s and there are those that go bankrupt using ktm for a transport.

i read the thread.

quite cute.

like watching drama.

and i realise one thing, everyone expects a wr200 to be CHEAP! selling less than 1.4 k that kinda price...

and i rmb wat someone told me b4 when i got my wr200.

Pay the price according to the condition of the engine, the upkeep/maintenance of the bike and the accessories.

if you think the bike is not worth the price then jolly well dun get it.

for once, if i wanna sell my wr200, you wont ever see me go below 2.4k for it.

1.4k for a werkz wr200 ? dream on man.

its like asking me to sell my son for a lelong price! =)

anyway i think this thread should be close, cos it does not serve any purpose beside possible flamings.

peace.
