:help: today spent $$ again. gotten CR9EK x 4 x $7 at ah boy. a yellow racing tube at the hardware shop and the round filter.

here is the analysis:

1) first plug change- looked like running too rich so removed airbox snorkel and gotten DENSO U24ETR to replace the CR8EK.

2)today change plug again- looks like a bit lean, changed to CR9EK.

3)fitted the racing yellow tube and filter to the bike. (seems better)

tonight will test out the bike again. then next report will be at the sat DIY session.

hope u guys can help with the plug thingy. it looks like unbalanced carbs or dirty carb to me. hopefully it wouldn't explode on me till sat DIY. :cheeky:

You did the WOT and plug chop?? I'm using CR8EK(NGK), hotter plugs, standard plugs for our P model bandit is CR9EK(NGK), as I use my bike mostly for short trips, less chance of fouling.

But if you are always touring better to use CR9EK, bike runs cooler for long distance.

My cly 2 plugs looks blacker (rich) than the rest and foul twice on me, planning to change all the o-ring on the float on carb 2 when I service my carb.

I dont undestand the racing yellow tube. I'm using K&N air filter not much diff from oem, fuel consumption no change, approx 270km before reserve.

Oh...that's the pressure vent hose. Any difference after installation, if its good I go Mah motorparts to install too.

Hehehehe...DIY spray paint, are you spraying the header as well??

I think those are slime but not sure if its your water pump seal worn and engine oil leak through which cause the by product. Try to flush the radiator and top up with new coolant and monitor to see if the problem still comes back.

yea thank god for jb...haha!

i was thinking of investing in a tourin sprocket..which means quite mafan..b4 touring must go bike shop change it...after that take out...

can take out sprocket w/o removing chain by breeaking link? i thinking can just slacken the chain to the max...then change sprocket..then tighten chain again

 back from test ride. seems like quite hard to decide which one was a major factor in the difference. 9 plugs seems to be running great. temperature is not as hot as b4. smoother riding, not as rough as b4.

 u have to decide which one was the affecting factor.

conclusion: :thumb: either way.

where can i get the bike rear jacked up?change linkage? or drill another hole in the existing linkage?

You can go to Datsun's father shop to jack up the tail but after that the rear wheel will touch the ground when put on main stand which makes cleaning of chains and rims quite diff. Not sure how his father do it, but I prefer to use a shorter dog bone compare to drilling.

Matias80sg also feedback engine and gear shifting become smoother after install the pressure vent hose. Think I will go Mah to get the parts and fix to my bike this friday. What size is the hose, I prefer red or black hose, less prominent and blends better with the bike.

the hose i got from the hardware shop at the lane after ah boy. external diameter is 13mm to 14mm. internal diameter is 10mm. length is 2M.$2 per metre.got 2 clips for the hose at 50cents each. then i got a little round filter from REGINA at $12 as ah boy told me his side dun have. total cost: $17.

i fitted the yellow hose into the existing hose and cable tie together. then i sealed up the hole for the hose in the air box with a screw and some epoxy. the rest is quite standard to fit.

will drop by his shop to do the jacking up. how much for jacking up the rear?

Test my clutch shifting riding ard town today, shifting down gear was slighly better stuck once or twice but shifting to neutral is still diff. No more oil leak found at clutch casing.

When rear wheel off the ground, main stand, shifting to any gear was easy.

Conclusion: Changing clutch plates did not solve the gear shifting problem when bike is hot., it could be other problem $$ wasted.

Install Hel front brake hose at Vector 1 today, the braking improves tremendously can feel the difference between stock hose and the metal hose immediately. Worth the $$ . Talk to Bernard, they repair the Bandit400 CDI before by changing the transistor, its a good piece of information for CDI repair.

Nest went to get the breather filter at Mah, they only have the K&N which cost $30 and the lady boss refuse to cut the price at $20. So went to LAB, the assistant says got K&N and the cheaper one, but the cheaper one, $8 no more stock. And Regina is selling the cheaper one at $12 might as well paid alittle more for the K&N at $22 (Ah boy only willing to discount $1 after bargain) which is reusable by washing and oiling.

13 front(30psi); 45 rear(36psi); 265-270km hit reserve; 100km/h @ 6Krpm; 140km/h @8.5RPM; Top end haven't try.
