Why not buy it from dream machine then since he took out his, and he can take the money to buy a new chain guard to fix on his bike.

ha ha..first of all...i still need the hugger lah bros..As 4 my fork, bearings n cone bearing..i've not done it yet lah.Still analising the problem area.Regarding the belly pan,u can hav it installed in JB..Cheaper..Datsu's dad quore me ard$70 for the bellypan..including bracket and labour,$100++ for fork svcing.

The bike in fact does wobble during long coners..As 4 normal/junction conering, i find i tend to "slow in fast out".The chain also seems stress when riding. But Ground clearance improve as i dont scraped the Jb hump anymore..

How abt the cornering, stable or not?? The belly pan can get from auntie shop 2 shops beside lab, thinking of getting there because color ones are available. Maybe can pay abit more and ask her mecahnic to install on our bandit.

You can get the chain guard from LAB, Cheeteck got his done at LAB work shop, but I see the workmanship not so nice. :cheeky:

How come you dun want to get the oil filter from KS?? If get from LAB, maybe he will send his man across the road to get from KS and jack up the price alittle.

For the grease try to get the high temp want because your shock is constantly under load. Should be available in most hardware shop. I got mine opp the shop houses along Alexandra village bike shops.

Have you fixed your fork oil seal, steering cone and wheel bearings at Datsun father's workshop??

B'coz of My work timing,i find it hard to go and get the oil filter..

I'm gonna B using ESSO Power 4T 15W40 for my coming oil change..Royal Purple is good..But A little EX for me..Currently on buget lah..

It looks like n i guess it is, hopefully this is the only hick up. Abt such issue it all comes down on yar luck, there is no way to confirm the condition on cooling n electricals(from experience). It maybe gd now may turn bad later.

Anyway u r sharp man how u know i got it from someone online??

Bcos I'm also considering changing to a Bandit VV. I find it more worthwhile compared to Super4 Vtec.

And u also just sold off yr Rxz just to get yr Bandit, right ? Hope I can join this club soon...that is if there's a chance...

hi fellow bandit riders,

i've completed surfing the pages in ClubBanditV from where i left off in Feb. I just want to add a few comments. btw, i rode a '94 Bandit.

1) Bandit CDI repair - when i first bought my bandit a year ago, the CDI gave problem one mth down the road. Bought a brand new one at Mah (Opp SLT) for $400. Then, i found out that the capacitors in the old CDI was the cause. So, i changed the capacitor, also, re-solder all the contact points. Bingo, it came back to life and i sold it for $100 to another bandit rider. That's my experience with CDI.

2) Drive system- actually, it's damn waste of money to change them at the motordiam. Go down to Kintai at Desker Road, you can buy a VAZ ft (with rubber) and back spocket for 20+30. Then get a Japan made non-O-ring chain at $24. Total is only $74. Then DIY. Buy a chain cutter first, you can use it for life. You can change the spockets every two chain-change. The non-O-ring type is good enough, unless you intent to ride your bandit like you do on a Hayabusa.

3) One thing to note about worn clutch plates is when your bike has problem shifting to neutral AND ALSO, when engaged in gears, you will find the bike is difficult to push backwards even when you de-clutch. Both symptoms indicate clutch plates are 'swollen'. Well, that's my experience with worn clutch plates.

I have one problem which I hope fellow riders can help me solve. The second carbs segment from the left (clutch side of the bike) keeps giving me problem. Got the entire carbs taken out, clean it and pressure 'jet' it at motordiam sometime back as I thought it was dirty, but now problem returned. It appears that the segment is running too lean, as when i took out the plug, i could see whitish substance on the plug. I know the plug chamber is not 'working' well as i noticed that the exhuast pipe is sometime warm, and not hot, and bike has no power when this occurs.

a) What is the cause? Could it be the jets (jet needle and needle jets whatever) causing the problem. Also, how useful is carb cleaner?

b) When the jets are worn, other then high consumption, what are the other indications?

I hope to get some good advice from your ppl as I do not want to waste money to trouble-shoot unnecessarily.

in worse scenario, i will get a new carb segment and have it replaced.

Thanks.

If ride is one's sole intention, why pay more - choose COE bikes. And if there has to be a pair of equal partners in a love relationship, it's me and my bikes.

i m no pro or wat...but jus using my basic knowledge.

check yar sparkplug or the cable for tht cylinder....to see if it is giving the current properly.

If the problem lies within yar carb...not sure if the mixture screw on the carb is like single cylinder.

Cos i ever encounter on a small bike the mixture screw too loose...until vibration can make it spin n go off tune.

Thanks.

I guess that particular carb of yours is set too lean, is your factory seal still intact at the mixture screw?? If the seal has been removed then your mixture screw maybe set to lean, you can turn 1/2 turn out and monitor again.

Lean condition can be cause by leak, check if your airbox is seal properly to the carb and check for damages on the rubber manifold at the engine side (the rubber could have harden and crack due to heat and long period of usage. Try to spray some carb cleaner around the manifold and see if the bikes choke or die and its a indication of leak. Other things to check is the tiny carb o-ring under the black caps, are they crack or lost?? and the rubber cap on the black cover are they crack and cause air to leak? Are your diaphragm broken or crack?

When jet needles and needle jets worn you actually have a rich condition, as more fuel is pass through the jet needles. You may suffer a flat spot in the mid range from 3k-7K rpm range depends on how bad is the wear on the jets and needles.

The carb cleaner is very useful for dissolving dirt and slimes in the carb, but try not to spray on the rubber or plastic parts as it may damage them. I been using them for 2 years to clean my carb and so far so good.

For a new bank of carburetor its not cheap, why not visually check the following parts and change it out if its worn

1. Pilot jets

2. Main jets

3. Jet needles

4. Needle jets (emulsion tube)

5. New o-rings

6. Diaphragms
