Speaking of front shock, anyone planning to do up your rear shock?

And how you planning to do it?

I'm always skeptical of the CR8EK plugs.

I've bought 4 from LAB, as backup when I go touring.

I'm suspecious of the material used.

Do a visible inspection with the ones Guan Hoe has($12), u'll know wat I mean.

Those are the SGP, Suzuki Genuine PArts, plugs and not from the cheapo LAB. There are printing of "SGP" logo on the packaging, btw KS motorcycles is one of the agents for suzuki parts.

I have been using those plugs for my gsxr750, apparently they are the same, never had a problem before,

Guan Hoe charges $12 for a plug?? I think I will bring my fork oil seal, and clutch plate for them to change then.

Hi there, S750Wp. the rear brakes seems good. for the front. I'm using SBS S597 @$25. Decent stuff. Abt the fork oil seals, I think u r looking at less than $50 for both sides.

If u wanna wash yr carb, guan hoe charges $35 to wash and syn the carb

I called Guan Hoe earlier, the lady told me labour cost is $45 to change fork oil seal and clutch plates if I bring all the parts for servicing.

She told me to bring and change the clutch sleeve hub as well, else they can't guarantee the clutch operation if I choose not to change.

Anyone can verify the statement, dun wish to spend $$ for nothing??

$50 for both side??? do you mean for the parts only or the repair cost of changing the fork oil seal?

I took out the carb to clean myself, found lots of silicon sealant on the float bowl gasket and some were smurged onto the floats and slides. Took me 3 hours to completely get rid of all the silicon and the carb cleaner really helps to dissolve those silicon and the gum in the carb. Also found one of the carb intake manifiold clamp is not tighten.

But when I fixed it back, I must have accidentally short some wires to the ground, casue when I turn the ignition the bike just went dead completely without lights or anything. :giddy: I guess I must have blown the main fuse.

By the way you guys able to seal the airbox cover properly?? cause I found mine doesn't seal so well, the cover seems to be warped alittle and the clip at the end is not able to clip in. :help:

But then I manged to polish off all the rust on the fork, handle bar with a very fine steel wool, now they are so shiny. :cheer:

I got the fork oil seal, dust cover and metal clip for both fork for $44 at KS motorcycle. What fork oil is recommended?

I asked the quote for the clutch plate, $85 not including the metal plates ( inclusive of metal plate is $134).

I tried to check the clutch cable is set correctly but the nut behind the clutch cover is so tight that it refuse to budge. Feel as its going to break if I try to force it, in the end I gave up and just adjust the free play at the clutch lever side hopefully thats the cause for the difficulty in shifting gear.

hi, check with you, i thought you need compressed air to blow out the cleaner and the air passage way? can just take out disassemble, clean & put back? i worry that when you take out and clean, the previous setting will be disturbed? like the what float level, clip etc?

I just realised something.

My bandit400 also is similar. airbox cover cannot close properly but still works well.

It will be nice if you have acessed to compress air but it work fine using those aerosol spray can carb cleaner, just spray into all the orifices in the carbs you can see, and its very effective is dissolving the gums and dirt.

The float height will not be disturbed unless you go and bent the tang, but do handle them with care. Remember to apply a coat of oil on the o-ring, I use engine oil, in order for the float to seat in properly.

I think its pretty alright to disasseble and clean the carb, I have done it on my 750 many times and when I check the carb balancing it never change.

Btw I change all those phillip screws to hex cap bolts makes it easy to open up the carb anytime for cleaning and I polished the carb with very fine steel wool the carbs is looking like new now.
