Bro, sweeeeeeeeet bike!

The Roulette Green is really awesome! It beats even the Kawa green!

See you on the roads...

Yeah man .. that is why 1 waited 2 long months .. see you on de road buddy. But I won't know it's you if I do see you. Haha.

Wowee!! I went to Cameron Highlands with my Monster 2 years back. The journey down the highlands was fantastic. You'll never get that in Singapore. I'm so jealous of you!! I'm still crawling with my bike, trying to keep it below 5000rpm. But do blast it beyond that sometimes. Couldn't resist! The bike flies a few hundred meters in a matter of seconds!

What colour is your bike? Did I meet you at RAT night? I prefer the under seat exhausts purely because I like the way they look. Not much increase in performance I guess. And they weigh much lighter than the stock ones.

I just took out the passenger foot pegs this afternoon. They are a pain in the S to remove!! Got to remove the exhausts and the bolts are freaking tight! It's a delicate operation that requires brutal strength! I damaged one bolt in the process but still managed to get the pegs off. Got carried away with removing stuff, so I removed the heel guards as well. Bike looks less cluttered now. Haha.

Carbon fiber rear wheel protection? Are you referring to the rear hugger? Funny that it didn't come as a standard item. I had to pay $130 for that piece of plastic with Triumph logo.

Anyway, here's 2 lousy pictures of my bike taken tonight, after it's very first bubble bath. It was freaking dirty. Good thing the rims are black with a rough surface. Makes cleaning easier.

yes i mean therear hugger, Isaw the plastic one also, but I think the support of it which is fixed on the bike is to big, I have the impresson that I only see this piece at the back( ok i admit sometimes I have some strange opinions..), especially when all the foot pegs etc are removed..I saw a carbon fiber one, but it comes from europe, did not manage to get 1 in singapore yet, we ll see....

Ah I see! No one can miss you when you arrive at MAH. Long blonde hair with a Street Triple sure seeks alot of attention hehe. You are the cool girl on the white bike with Arrow low-mount. You were there with your bf right? Didn't have much chance to speak more with you guys that night. Haha. Don't think Singapore is selling carbon fiber rear hugger. You can try here: http://www.carbonuk.net/shop/category.aspx?catid=12 lots of carbon fiber parts. However I think it's cheaper to get from US because the US dollar is weak now. Good luck!

Where are you holidaying now BTW?

If u own a triumph n have tried filling up the RAT details on the official site, u can see that Spore is not in the drop down list of countries.............so...................till date, I cant sign up till this red dot is recognised by the ppl in UK.

I thought we are automatically RATs when we purchase a Triumph from the agent? Just a thought though.

:?

in 2002 when i was in the uk, i spoke to the sales manager at triumph *****ing about the lack of dealer backing for triumph owners and how the brand was going through the dumps coz of that, their response was "we are talking to a big player in the s'pore market to ensure we provide support to our riders"

Came back, rode 2 triumphs and I was still usually the lone triumph in my group. parts back up has improved a bit although i still bring in parts myself.

lovely bike that is still not properly appreciated in s'pore.

unfortunately not.

also for thought, is the first owner only qualified to be a rat?

if he sells the bike, does that mean the next guy cannot be one?

u need to register to become a rat

and we cant even if u would like to.

and even if u are rat, are there any perks, benefits?

there has been an improvement, but its still not enough against other major bike brands. it is also not exclusive/appealing enough to attract new customers.

compare buell and triumph or ducati and triumph.

which would most ppl choose from the above?

triumph has been ard for ages, still not established in design, reliability or cutting age technology.

so whos this BIG player whos now supporting local triumph riders?

how do they go abt qualifying that they can provide the support?

are the mechanics with sound engineering qualifications and adequate years of experience with regular updates on model upgrades?

or is it still left with the normal seat of the pants feel of "it sounds right", "it feels right" so there is no issue?

Hello. Sorry about your hair colour haha.

Yes happy about the bike. Just 3 complains: engine gets very hot, throttle too sensitive to the touch and I have to tip toe haha. The green is stunning. Attracts a lot of attention. But have not finished the 5000rpm run-in period. I think I can increase it to 6000rpm soon. But I'm not used to riding a bike at 6000rpm. My previous bike had a v-twin engine and 6000rpm is like too high reving. I'll get used to it for sure. Now I set my gear-change LEDs to light up at 6000rpm hehe.

I heard New Zealand is a very quiet and peaceful place with lots of winding roads. I'm sure it'll be pefect for a biking holiday. Enjoy yourself!

Ahh .. I'll get used to it

I haven't been enjoying the bike this week. The journey to and fro my new office sucks. Slow moving traffic with lots of tortise vans and lorries occupying the 2nd lane (AYE), and hot afternoon sun blinding my eyes. I find myself squeezing through traffic more than ever before. Maybe the exhaust is burning my bums, so I got to go faster to cool it.

Time to join the other Triumph owner this Sat and open them throttles on the Msian highway

this is the main reason why I put on a low exhaust....your bott is getting like an oven, I was moving all over the saddle all the time as it was burning!!but this all disappeared with the low exhaust.for the throttle, well i suppose you just have to calm down your hand...:) no, you can adjust it maybe..I also had a twin before, an aprilia tuono..different driving from the street, but the street is much more playful...

have fun!!!

Im also tempted to get a low exhaust but the problem is legality issues.

Playing hide and seek with the cops is no fun.

I prefer to ride on the roads with a peace of mind.

Its not worth the fine either.

Another advantage of changing the exhausts is that the stock ones are too darn heavy! I cannot imagine having all that weight so high up on the bike.

I'm trying to get used to the throttle every single ride, I think I'm getting better now. The Ducati was more forgiving with a less sensitive throttle response.

Aren't there any street-legal exhausts for the Tiger? I don't really play hide and seek. I just ride the bike and enjoy it. I think speeding and drink-riding are much worse than having a non-street-legal exhaust. The exhausts don't cause any danger to other road users. Don't worry too much. Like you told me before - we only live once :D

But just get prepared to pay the fine if get caught *touch wood* :giddy:

Hey care to post a mini ride report on the Port Dickson trip? :)

Will post pics tmrw if u can help down size them? :p

There are so far no legal exhaust for the tiger. So I shall wait....

With every mod, I will like to feel the difference.

No point putting down 2k for exhaust if I cant feel the difference between the stock.

For now, I will ride with the stock till its fully run in. Only 5000km at the moment. The other thing is getting the ecu remapped to suit the exhaust. Means buying the code to crack ecu and then a couple of hours of dyno time.

A low aftermkt exhaust is about 7-8kg weight saving for the tiger.

Yes we only live once but my pockets will bleed to death within that short life time if I have to pay a fine every time I get stopped at a roadblock.:giddy:

Then what after that? Back to stock & sell the arrows?

How many Streets are there in Spore?

Most likely, it will end up as a wall decoration!

Not wise. Im done playing hide & seek when I had the monster with the termis.

You can upload your pictures to ImageShack. It will resize the pictures for you on the spot before you link them to the forum.

Haha to each of his own lah for the exhaust. Actually I don't think the exhaust for the Tiger costs so much. I also didn't bother to feel the difference between the stock and after-market because it is more of a cosmetic upgrade for me.

Ok if you are not comfortable with the idea then it's better to stick with the stock one first. If really so unlucky to get caught more than once then yes, you should really drop the idea. Haha. Most important thing is that you are comfortable. No issue for me with the road blocks though, because I don't stay out so late at night.

How many Streets are there in Singapore as in how many Street Triples? Not many but I don't think they go out looking specifically for Street Triples with after-market exhausts. We are not some notorious gang or something. There are much more Hondas and Yamahas to look out for. :)

Im looking at the full system, end cans are a waste of time as Im after performance.

Getting caught once is enough, thats $800. 2nd time, the penalty is heavier.

What I meant when I say how many streets Trips are there in Spore, is after you get caught, ure not going to continue using the exhaust right? So either u will be hanging that piece of metal at home or selling it to another triple rider right? But the mkt is small so its hard to sell so mostly end up with the metal pipe and cant use or get $$$ back.

I wasnt making any gang references dude :giddy:

BTW, when I had the aprilia, 2 of the guys got caught with illegal pipes with info from the forum. the guys' mum got a shock when they were knocking on their doors and escorted him straight away to LTA. no warning letter nothing, guess didnt want him to change back to stock then go for inspection.
