hey King, if I were u, I would have just registered a normal plate and ride first.

when the bidded plate comes later, then swap, not worth saving the fee for sleepless nights and endless molestation from unknown strangers.

u get one bugger with a key ring hung on the belt loop scrap past your tank and dats it!

Anyway.. i been so busy in recent weeks, it help takes my mind of it..

i am sure Eugene will not let andone just climb all over her... oh well... talking abt it now just makes me start to worry...:sian:

Tyres.

Anyone got a preference or recommendation for a particular tyre choice for the Street Triple?

I have the original Qualifiers on but they,re almost done for now.

The tyres are good and seem to last, but need to change them soon.

Up to $3, 000 worth of accessories to be given away with every new Triumph bike purchase.

Are the parts on the Speed Triple R really worth the $1.5k extra?

Tires will depend on yur riding style n how hard u push the bike

for day to day with some touring in mind and not much crazy abuse into n out of corners

i recommend these 2 .They last long, warm up quick enuff sensible grip and they last long! :

pirelli angel st

michelin pilot road2

_______________________________________________________________

a few ok ok road biased tires similiar to the qualifiers , but i dont recomend them so much

cause the pushed hard they dont work well and for abit more then the price u cud get much better tires:

Pirelli Diablo

Michelin Pilot power

Bridgestone Bt 12-14

Metzler M3 -M5

________________________________________________________________

for me i ride chill most of the time, until its attack mode then .. erm i'm trail braking into and then wheeling out of corners .

I need semi fast warm up with a gd amount of tire shoulder/edge grip but long lasting hard center compound

and water moving thread for day to day ,thus my preference :

pirelli Diablo Rosso corsa

bridgestone bt 016

Michelin power pure ( or the pilot power 2ct if u wanna budget a lil)

________________________________________________________________

If yur a track junkie id recommend

these tires in thier specific medium to hard compunds

michelin power ones

Pirelli diablo supercorsa

bridgestone bt 003

Metzler interact racetec

actually, since it is sold, y dont they just keep it on the top floor, out of the showroom?

i was looking at the 2 remaining rsv4 a few months back, every time I return I see new "decals". :)

anywayz, less paint and laquer would also mean a lighter n faster bike?

depends what u want, u want good sticky ones or u want lasting ones?

or something in between?

dunlop alpha 11

michelin pilot pwr

michelin road 2

metzler z6

in the wet the road 2 performs better than the rest.

these would be my choice, I choose grip over mileage.

saving $50 for a cheaper tyre is not worth an accident or personal injury if u think about it

Good luck in your shopping :)

I paid the extra for it..

I would believe its worth it just for the suspension alone less the rest.

Although performance is exactly the same...

I,m having a bit of a dilemma.

My good intentions of behaving myself before I actually get on the road suddenly disappear after the first couple of Km's.

I turn into a hooligan on wheels, and at my age its a worry (ok ...its fun more like).

I thought it could be the fact that most other road users are inclined that way and this is normal, but now I think that its the bike that is possessed and I,m turning into a man on a mission. Like Arnie Cunningham in the movie Christine.

Does this normally happen with anyone else and their STR?

This is so what i was thinking....

and knowing myself all too well... i believed i will be a rider possed by Valentino rossi...

But you need to watch your back for the white ants... :D

hahaha, I know what u mean but I doubt it.

Just seeing the dozens of kup zhais' squeezing n zig zagging thru major jams every morning makes most of us look like very tame riders. :p

I dont know bout everyone .... but for me personally.

YES.. im not proud of it but it does take effort and somehow i can control better in day light

but during the night time wen hooliganism is less noticed by the public its harder to control ...

i try thou .. u can quickly shift the street triple to 5th on normal roads n ride gently from 35-40kph on wards, once i hit 55kph + i go to 6th already ..

cause those of u who ride n will ride a street triple ,if u leave it in gear 2 at 55kph + just a lil twist ....and erm..u watch those blue shift light light up yeah .. hell yeah!

hey hardgay . i mean friedfishz,

sorry missed yur post .. the price difference used to b higher then 1.5k

now at 1.5k its a gd deal.

the thing is u get anice lookin seat tat sadly absorbs water n other liquids like bird poop:( ,adjustable supersport suspension and radial mount calipers with radial master cylinder and steel braided brakelines

thing is most riders who just commute dont really really need it .. the standard brakes on the non r street triple are gd .

the suspension as well ... unless u weigh over 70kg, i heard the standard street suspension is not setup for heavier riders so they usually have to upgrade the springs n oil front n back.etc..

but if yur ligther then tat and u dont really bother with pushing the bike (on track or street) then the standard street triples suspension is comfy n does a gd job so u can get a standard street triple tat comes in many yummy colours n use the money to do up the bike abit or invest a better tires n engine oil ,treat me kopi ^_^etc.

I,m approaching 90 kilos, ( stop laughing ), the fork preload adjusters on my STR are two lines away from fully in, the ride is not overly hard giving good feedback.

Back them off a couple of lines and its way too soft on the front.

one more thing on tyres rarely mentioned.

look for the production date on the side markings.

i wont buy anything more than 6mths old.

age and heat affects the silica compound quite a bit.
