I don't notice the heat, the bike has carbon covered Zards on it , you can put your hand on the cans whilst the pipes are maximum temp.

My tickover has gone a bit mad, when I got the bike it had 5000km on it and tickover was what you say. Now it likes to stall when pulling the clutch in when coming to a stop, keep it running and it maintains 1000rpm (ish) on tick over.

Will be going to the shop with it soon.

Well, i also have the zard on.. but i can feel the heat from the section under the seat...

I am thinking of getting it wrap eventually...

hi guys, would like to ask if its a norm to remove the exup valve???Not too sure of the benefit but am aware of things after reading the overseas forum on daytona 675..Thing is my ECU light(the orange colour) came up and was wondering wat it could be and from wat iread most daytona owners will face this and most are concluded with a freeze exup valve..

I would want to go to MAH as a last resort if Meng Tong was still there i would have gone there asap, but he isnt and the other guy dun seem to put much dedication to work...anyone have any suggestions?:weep:

Take it to Mah as they have the game boy for dianogstics use, if it comes up obvious, they have the manual with the codes there to rectify the issue.

Ah Tong could not solve the issues I had and Mah was aware nothing could be done though the game boy was showing all was fine so they sent the issue to UK. Ah Tong is at Sporting at Kaki Bukit btw, so u can look for him there.

There are other workshops with the game boy too but if your bike is new, take it to Mah first.

Hey.. i thought we were talking abt breaking in a 'engine'

never knew it meant something else *looking innocently away*

Oh yesssss, ure the great pretender.........

Hey, those 2 things are fairly similar.

Eg. if u were renting either of those 2 items, I bet u would be trashing it.

But, if u are the sole owner, loving care is a must right?

there may be a game boy at sporting?

Im not certain, can call & check.

there is not much "tuning" that can be done, just uploading the various maps they have in stock. most of which is fine for europe's weather but doesnt suit us.

u got to keep going back till they get it right

WOW

ive been super busy the last week and suddenly this thread gets real busy without me! must be the TOPIC .. wat was it about again?i think breaking in new bikes or something ahem.. ^_^

Oh btw Ray didnt know you brought her home! Congrats man! ended up being bit to busy last week but im free this evening , tmr mornin and tmr evening thou if any body wants to meet up for a ride

Regarding the heat issue ,the "cat" can b blamed for the extra heat

alot of overseas riders who removed it from thier exhaust systems experienced

lower and as a bonus torque n power increase . yes i said cat.. yes u all know wat i mean

and regardin the temp bars mine runs pretty decently hardly ever goes above 5 unless its to much stop n go traffic .. and the worse ive ever seen was 7 bars outta 8 for a brief moment . I am also using Engine ice as coolant

and finally for my street triple's break in it was > the mineral oil from factory 1000km( to much.. but wasnt my choice )> mineral oil + abit of rev pushing 300km > semi syn( any sensible brand will do ) 1000km > motul 300v 2500km

and now im on amsoil hp 10w40 which ill change every 5000km

again anyone free for a bit of a ride lemmi know! been aloooong time since i rode with another RAT rider ^_^

Hey Shin,

Great to see you again..

I think u shld come in more and oranise some nite supper and rides.. ;)

Hey Man, yeah it was a nice short ride n chill session =)

but Organizing for RAT rascals aint gonna be easy, triumph told us all to go our own way ^_^

Your bike is lookin and sounding dang gd .. cant wait to hear it at WideOpenThrottle!

and oh yeah and erm i hope everything went well !!:thumb:

i finish my 1st tank and i realised ionly managed 150km for 13L

Would that be ok?

Would the mileage improve after 1st oilchange?

I read in other RAT forum that most get 17-20km/l... is that rite?

That's true. The consumption is usually erratic and a bit on the high side when you are running in but it will gradually stabilize over time. In my previous two bikes which I bought new, the fuel consumption stabilized at about 8,000 km...

8000km??

thats a bit long to stablise...

I was just wondering if the orginal map is the fault since i have the zard slip ons now.. If my DB killers are out, would that make it worst?

I thought during run in you get the best mileage since you rarely go pass 6k rpm...

You should definately get the latest TOR tune loaded at first service, it will make a big difference. I noticed a huge difference in driveability with the TOR on my 1050 Tiger, particularly at low revs and better mid range pick up, power and torque - maybe but it's got more than enough for me already :thumb: .

They will not do it automatically so you will need to ask specifically for it to be done, ask them also for the tune info so you can check with Hinckley that they have loaded the correct one.

Thanks!

I will ride down and ask eugene to load the map up. Where in the wensite can i check that the map is the correct map? Do i email Triumph UK direct?

Now i feel the power at low rev is quite good.. but as it reach 6k rpm, the power feels a bit 'choke'? Maybe i did not WOT hence the feel..? Not sure.. but im going to do my 1st oil change before i WOT...

Don't fret or tinker with the bike too much until you've completed running in. As the pistons are breaking in, you'll feel a bit of power loss and some erratic throttle behavior from the bike here and there. But once you've had your oil changed and the servicing done, then is the time to pay close attention to the performance of the bike. In the meantime, don't worry too much and enjoy the ride.
