i finish my 1st tank and i realised ionly managed 150km for 13L

Would that be ok?

Would the mileage improve after 1st oilchange?

I read in other RAT forum that most get 17-20km/l... is that rite?

Yeah 17-20km/L is pretty standard depending on your right wrist

i even got 21.1 km/L on V power once ( was riding like a gd lil boy)

I have a theory though

There's a high chance the bike didn't have a full tank of fuel wen u left the dealer( they've been know to fill it only half tank or so) and when u tried filling it up after the low fuel light came on u had to top up a gd 13Litres to get it full which is usually how much id top up after the fuel light comes on for abit .

yeah im pretty sure u didnt travel just 150km on 13L of gas(even if its being broken in ).. probably had only 9 or 8L in it?

i ve managed 285kms once on a tank before toping up 15L

Don't fret or tinker with the bike too much until you've completed running in. As the pistons are breaking in, you'll feel a bit of power loss and some erratic throttle behavior from the bike here and there. But once you've had your oil changed and the servicing done, then is the time to pay close attention to the performance of the bike. In the meantime, don't worry too much and enjoy the ride.

I am definitely enjoying it.. but controlling it to 6krpm now is abit... hard...

I am already thinking of what to add next..

Bad habit of mine when i get something new.. cant resist spending money..:p

Actually the tank had been top up...

Mah only gave me enuff fuel to ride to a petrol kiosk!:faint:

I had to top up ard 12L..

But on my 1st tank i did ride more aggressively.. so i am quite sure my FC was only ard 13-14km/l.. even my trip meter says 13.8km/l

Anyway, i am not complaining or bother abt the fuel money... with the fun im getting even to 6k rpm... whats there to complain!!

Yeah man i can see your enjoying yurself and it'll only get better as the revs rise ^_^

im guessing yur bike is gonna sound something like this with the baffles out

like this might need to roll it into the carpark in neutral if coming home after 10 ^_^

Nice one with the new bike KA.

Like a kid with a new toy!!

I dare not remove the db killers from the Zards on my bike, a would receive a car park demonstration, or worse. I leave home just after 6 each morning and its noisey as it is.

I have to say that my bikes fuel consumption ain't great. Saying that I do a lot of stop and start ( this is Singapore after all ) my work place is only about 10 mins from my home and I do give it a hand full at every chance:D . Sorry officer.

When I took the bike for service at about 8000 km at Mah, first question from the chief mechanic was " How is the fuel consumption?"

The bike will go in for service soon and needs attention to the fuel set up ( 12000km) as it likes to stall sometimes when pulling up.

Enjoy the ride.

Luckily I park in underground area so not so much of an issue thankfully, though I have been known to ride round twice just to listen to that glorious sound echoing off the walls

Makers tend to set the bikes up quite lean at the critical Euro emmisions test points just to be sure they will all pass so real world riding is compromised a bit. I didn't experience any increase in fuel cons. after getting the TOR loaded.

I recall I got the tune info from another user on the Tiger1050 forum, not sure how to check it directly, maybe worth a search or a question on the 675 forum.

Vara is gone but back strain lingers on o_O

Hey guys ! check this out , the new mini tiger looks sweet. The road biased version might even be a better day to day bike then the street triple

any comments?

i kinda like the design direction, a lil japanesy but refined

thinkin the new Speed3 will take some cues here n there

Looks a bit TDM Yam to me (with high exhaust and different nose fairing), but cool all the same.

With the Street Triple motor in it , the front tyre would never wear out as it will be constantly in the air.

Thanks for the sketch.

Its getting a stroked version of the street/daytona engine ..

the bore length increased so its an 800cc engine now ,

its still pumpin around 100+ horseys so its meant to b a mini torque monster

front tires will probably never need changing the way this is going +_+

it really does have tat TDM ,super tenere thing a lil , also abit of mechanical euro feel to it like the moto guzzi stelvio

I heard alot of comments tat the tiger1050 was to road biased ..

this new 800cc tiger will come in Two flavors , one with spoked and trail ready rims+tires and longer suspension

then there will be a more super moto style version with 17inch road tires as in the sketch

its aiming squarely at the neck /jugular of the BMW GS800 which accordin to the specs it beats in terms of power to weight, price and tank range ^_^

heres the youtub video tat i got from the hellforleather site .

i have got a original triumph carbon fiber tank pad for the current generation tiger that is still waiting to be sold, temp. on hold.

Original price is about $80, will sell for $50

Unused, new, comes with all necessary double sided stickers.

Unfortunately, it wont fit either the speed or the street. :(

Does anyone know where to buy a padock stand for a Speed Triple?

Mah says that they don't stock them. The Ducati 848 model looks like it should ,because the single-side swing arm set up is similar, and Minerva stocks then (for $385!) but unfortunately the pin is too small.
