RACE TO PARLIAMENT

Companies oppose Dec 24 special holiday

Many companies have said they will not make Dec 24 a holiday, as requested by the government, as they have to handle a heavy workload with the end of the year approaching, the Employers Confederation of Thailand said yesterday. Secretary-general Siriwan Romchathong said a number of firms would, however, allow workers to travel to their hometown to vote on Dec 23, a Sunday.

The cabinet ordered the Monday holiday to encourage people to vote.

Hi Chrislayer,

yes you can as we were not staying at the Sakura Hotel when we were there. It was quite tiring to travel for 12 hours to Hatyai and we took quite a long break at one of the rest stop. Enjoy your trip!

Christlayer>> u can also buy the inus at the malaysia DFS (duty free shop) after go thru the malaysia custom..min 1 week cost RM22 for 1000cc bike.

Sakura hotel so far i like the best becos with good underground parking facilities with cctv & furthermore near to the shop that help to wrap up my seat.

If u want cheaper hotel rate just buy voucher at the travel agent (opposite the hotel) for 850 baht ,& assage just 200 baht for 2 hr . Go massage just don't forget to tip them..

Steps to do a proper KNNBCCB with middle finger.

1. Bow down slightly, looking intensely at objective

2. Like a raging bull, hop and jog slowly towards objective

3. Take your left palm and slap it hard on the right mid-arm with a SLAP!

4. With charisma, raise right arm, whilst showing middle finger (with left palm trapped in bend right arm)

5. Shout! KNNBCCB

I think you might know that you can buy the vouchers from the local agents there which will cost you much cheaper than walking into the hotel itself...

Gd choice for u bro, been there 3x n have never regretted goin there. The night life there is an eyeopener especially if ur'e goin during the FMP.

U shld go there n book the rooms. There are a few places i recommend staying, all are 5-10 mins from Haad Rin beach where all the main actions are.

If u're those adventerous type, can rent a scrambler there n explore the island, full of waterfalls. Note: some roads to waterfalls are dirt tracks with steep inclines n declines, not proper rds. Not for the inexperienced offrd riders. But u'll be rewarded with a cold stress free dip in the waterfall if u get there!

One more impt point, the roads frm the main town leading to haadrin beach area are treacherous, steep slopes. Crash on the wrong side, u'll be rolling down the cliffs below!! I've personally seen ang mohs crashing their bikes there bleeding frm the head(due to samsong?) luckily he crashed on the side towards Haadrin otherwise he'll be down the cliffs. I was once being intimidated to a race at night by an ang moh riding a 125cc auto scooter, i'm riding a Honda XR250 at dat time, i thought to myself: "WTF! Lets try him out n see" My god!! i tell u he's damn fast n gd!! Only managed to keep up with him for a while. His lining was perfect! He even managed to pull a wheelie on the way up a slope right in frnt of me! he's still able to turn his head back n look at me! On an auto bike!!! :giddy: The heinekens i had during dinner clearly didn't help much! haha. Anyway thats pure adrenaline!!

Other than dat the roads are quite easy to follow on the map.

Another beach to go to is on the nothern end of the island, near Mae Hat village, there a connecting "little island" called Koh Ma where u can "literally" walk accross the sea to dat little island.

For meals, the resturants along Haadrin area are kinda expensive n can be found back in Spore, so no point. I always have my dinner at main town-Tongsala the food market (beside 7-11) starts operating around 5pm all the way till night. they sell cheap seafood, Thai style economic rice, chicken rice, noodle soup etc...

"CORAL BUNGALOWS

Address: 70/8 Moo 6. Bantai, Haad Rin Beach,

Koh Phangan, Suratthani 84280. Thailand"

Nice clean basic rooms with aircon, hot shower. More suited for the young n adventerous. Not suited for pple who go there n sleep the night away cos music will be blasting away througout the night till late in the morning. No TV or minibar. They have their own "Pool Party" on alternate weeks, those type where you see in TV, where everyone is throwing everyone into the pool with the music blasting away. Stay there if u are those hardcore party animals. Got laid there last year, barely made it up to my room. :thirsty: Very nice n friendly staffs. Bout 5-10mins walk to party area.

Neptune`s Villa

110/1 Moo 6, Baan Tai

Koh Phangan, Suratthani

Nice, quiet, cosy n romantic for couples. Nice room with TV,hot shower, minibar, aircon, Cable tv. Price abit on the high side but still reasonable. Their beachside bungalows comes with 1 queen bed n 1 single bed. Can split the costs among 2 frnds. Couples can stay in there the whole day to make out! :cheeky: They have bungalows jus by the beach/waterbreaker. Walk a few steps can see the beach already. Bout 5-10min walk to main party area.

"VIMAN SAMUT RESORT"

Address: 117/11 Moo 6 Baan Tai, Haad Rin Nai Beach,

Koh Phangan, Suratthani 84280. Thailand

Quiet n romantic for couples. Stayed in Premium. Room not as cosy as Neptune. Got own balcony. Comes with "not so hot shower", TV, mini bar, aircon. Price on the high side. Stayed there cos no choice.

Disclaimer, the rates i put are what they were when i was there during different times. Not sure bout the rates now. Post some pics here when ya back. Go there with an open heart n u'll have the time of ur life!! :p
