Congrat! and thanks for sharing the info here.

Just out of curiousity, since Monday you could only get your new bike, how come you could test ride on it?

Do you feel it's torque on every single rpm?

A magazine said that it is like a Lexus of a litre bike... wat would you comment on this.

Actually I have to thank those good folks at Mah. On Monday, they did the registration, road tax, insurance ... all in a couple of hours so I can get it by 5pm.

The RR4 does feel more refined. It's like a rally car being taught how to behave with good manners.

The Unit Pro suspension is simply amazing. Everytime I come out of the car park, I will go over a pavement that has lots of "goose pimples". On the 954, my skull feels like it's vibrating my face out of alignment. Not on the RR4, the bumps are really not transferring to the frame.

The sharp buzz from the handle bar is gone on this machine. It's lower in amplitude, hands don't get numb as soon as the 954.

Although it's heavier than the 954, it sure doesn't feel so. On the 954, after a fill up, the top of the tank feels heavier. But because of all the niceties Honda has done with mass centralization, the RR4 doesn't feel topsy at all.

Yep, did a high rev run in like you suggested, mostly on 2nd gear, up down, up down.

1st oil change at 45km. Now waiting to hit 500km. Just came back from GP esso, rode to airport, and back to west. Now 390km already. Should be able to hit 500km tomorrow, then do another oil change.

Will still stick with mineral oil for now. 2500km will change to semi, then 5000 full syn.

RR4 feels cooler than 954.

Yep, can feel heat from behind, but heat from sun is hotter.

JusJus, I sugest you make a trip down, I don't know about the downpayment. Interest rate also no idea.

what brand of mineral oil u used and whats the rating?

back to west? u live where?

any more updates on the performance?

Use SPC oil, SG rating. Wanted to use Castrol mineral, but only SF rating.

For fully syn, also thinking of using SPC, cos it's SJ rating. Know of any syn oil that has an SJ or SL rating?

For Blade, manual recommends SE, SF or SG equivalent or better.

Performance is like any litre bike, more than enough for me. I haven't used it fully, so can't tell.

LOL, can't tell you where I live.

Tashi, it seems that you make a full payment for your bike, isn't it?

On 2nd thought, don't use SPC. I tried it on my 954. It's not good for gear shifting. Even on the RR4, it was starting to feel bad.

I manage to get SG ones from Mobil as well, the mineral ones. I just switched to that an hr ago. 20W-50.

will take note for the oil.

hahahaha.

did u meet a blue 04R1 just now?

Actually a lot of people have been asking me about the steering damper.

How do you test it? Induce a tank slapper? :help:

It's unobtrusive, I can't feel it, but that's how it should be. When my glove's velcro strap came loose yesterday while riding, I released the handle bar and adjusted it. To my surprise, it felt more stable than the 954 while doing the "look ma, no hands". The stability can reallybe felt. I can let go longer, and was tempted to do the macarena even. (insert emoticon doing macarena here)

HESD at work? You bet! :lovestruck:

OK la, gotta go KL! Have a nice weekend.

Just got back safely from the KL trip.

I must say, this bike is much easier to go faster. The HESD, tires, mass centralization, extra weight makes the bike more stable.

I made fewer stops, adjusted my ass lesser, ears doesn't ring as much ...

It's also louder at idle, pedestrians can hear me coming and move aside. On the 954, I can sneak up on people.

Nice to know you are back, any pics can share with us... let us take a peek at your new bike. ok?

At which rpm can you feel the power is coming in?

I only took a pic of my heavily modified Wave125Turbo.

Noticed the turbo propeller?

Posted

Didn't notice when the power pours in.

The sitting posture at 1st I thought is not as comfy as the 954. But as I said, I stopped less, adjusted my ass less ... obviously I felt less strain ... maybe I was moving faster?

The lower bars did feel stranger and less comfy. After awhile it doesn't bother. Your body will adapt.

I remember when I 1st got the 954, after 2 weeks, I kept cursing, why the hell did I get this bike, my wrists hurts, my back hurts, everywhere hurts. Your body will adapt after awhile, and then you'll start to enjoy it.

ZenBike had the same experience with his 954.

1st gear reached 90, had plenty of rpm to go higher, but I didn't punch it. I feel it's like destroying your bike.

Do you really need to use it this way?

Thanks for your input.

Last time i used to ride CBR400 FireBlade and VTEC, both of them the power comes in at and after 7k rpm. Actually i'm using these two bikes as a reference, does CBR1000 perform the same? Or is it that we cannot describe 1000cc bike's power in reference to 400cc bike?
