My temp never go above 106. Use this as a benchmark, when gointo GP Esso on Sat night, at the bridge, how low does your temp go? Mine goes to as low as 73dc. This is on stock coolant.

Mine is running hotter than yours but similar to torque

I hit 109deg the other day when going into JB via woodlands

Just went to Johore Via Tuas - GP Esso, just now.

My temp was between 75 and 76 deg.

Everyday afternoon cruising, wld be between 79 to 83 deg.

If its extremely slow traffic or jam, wld be hitting as high as 104 deg.

Currently, mileage standing at 45,000km. And still on stock coolant, but changing my coolant soon.

Ive done various research, i found out that this new coolant called "Red Line" is extremely much more better than "Engine Ice". You can check it on the net or at the retail shops, they are available in sg. There is a chart comparison of both products mentioned here going head on, and "Red Line" performs much better. Extremely excellent for our bikes, due to our humidity, unpredictable climate and also since running engine temperature could easily hit more than 100 deg in slow traffic.

It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

When are you doing the valve adjustment, it's about time.

Is the valve adjustment really necessary and important?:giddy:

Bcos apparently my bike seems to be performing as per normal so far. Theres is no knocking sound also. Anyway, i wld definately hate to leave my bike at the workshop for 2-3 days, unless it cld be done within the same very day.

Well, what happens if i do not do the valve adjustment?

Logically my bike shld be underpowered. Other then that what happens?

Is it the same as Valve clearance?

I am no expert in this area. I would think you have to check the clearance, if the clearance is not right, then you do the adjustment. Your bike is losing power in small increments, so much so you wouldn't notice it until you do the valve adjustment. Raptor's bike felt like new after he did it.

Imagine in the intake stroke, the valve is supposed to open to let air in, but it's not open fully, only a small amout of air gets sucked in (lose power?) Perhaps in the exhaust stroke, the valve again does not open fully to let the exhaust escape, with so much combustion and heat and no where to go, the engine will blow up in a worst case sceanario?

This is based on my understanding as a layman. Experts feel free to voice out.

The engine will definitely be more lively after valve adjustment.

Just came to mind, with small amounts of air getting into the combustion chamber, the ECU adjusts to spit smaller amounts of fuel, again, tranlates to less power and better fuel economy. So if your fuel economy goes up, perhaps it's time to do a valve adjustment.

Start applying your leave for 19 Oct 2007 guys. You've been a model employee, a good boss, an understanding bf/husband, a responsible father, a filial son all year round. This is the time of the year when they have to understand us, we need to go out and ride, it's the time of the year when you all come out of the closet and become gay boys again, and share beds with your fellow riders, haha.

Some more pix.

hi tashi,

curious... wats in the schedule on 19 Oct'07?

going touring to?

regards, pillow

The route for daily travel plays a part. I only hit 3 traffic lights while traveling to work.

Pillow, that's MotoGP weekend. Going to Cameron, KL and Sepang.

Checkout Jet Li's new movie, looks like there's a Fireblade gang.

talking bout the temp.. my bike dun usually go below 80deg..even at night..

and i am always stuck on traffic jams in morning and night goin and coming from work.. does that relate to faster burnt coils?

using the gpr slip on , can go up to 220 before reserve.after using k&n air filter... at most 210km..

Great trailer, plus a grp of superbikes... cool man :thumb:.

btw, for my fuel consumption,

the least mileage before reserve light wld be 225km,

the most mileage before reserve light wld be 260km...

Considerations for differences of fuel consumption...

riding style...

gear shifting technique...

distance traveled per trip..

duration of warming up...

traveling speed....

type of petrol...

fuel addictives...

and most impt, like tashi advised..

u got do your Valve adjustment yet or not...

hahaha... :cheeky:

btw, just now the maggie goreng not so nice...

n the otak2 also lagi not nice...
