wow ... can see the response is overwhelming .. i think can get atleast 100 s4 rider for upcoming trip .. more rider = higher alertness ..

 

more rider = higher accident rate (touch wood)

passed by that area countless times. Nothing wrong with that area. Accidents usually happen when a driver/rider makes a wrong judgement or due to road hazards.

 

so nothing is really wrong about the area lah, as in too straight, bends on slope etc

There is alot of responsibility for the organiser team. The priority is still all those that participate go and come back safe and sound. It is not about the speed and venue but giving assurance, confidence and courage for newbie that wants to join the trip.

 

Those that have went and regularly going is not a problem to them but what about the new one? Do they know the group riding style? Do they feel safe going with the organiser? Do their doubts get clarifies and assurance when they join in? What happen if there is problem like bike breakdown, accident, etc? Do experienced riders offer their assistance to make the trip successful?

 

There are alot of effort to make things happen. For those that's willing to assist is to contact the organiser and offer their help and those that wants to join to put down their participation. Some will have comments, feedback etc and do pm the organiser so that there is improvement and more helpers along the way.

Touring, need to be organized. if not, it will be a dangerous ride. I'm still new at this ah but as I see some old bird2 do touring and when I follow them I can see that touring is not an easy job too. Alot of responsibility and also judgement when in group. For example like Safe distance, staggered position (left right), Hand Signals.

 

Then the rider also need to have a Leader, one or two Marker (usually the one that you need to follow. if u got lost and never see the marker, just go straight w/o worries. Coz Markers will stop at the side waiting the whole group to go if they need to turn left or right. then the will follow behind the leader again) the herd (the ones that follows) and lastly the sweeper (Must be behind the 2nd last bike at all times so not letting the herd stray away) Leader,marker and sweeper must have good knowledge of the road.

 

There are also two types of style, one is like Herding (the one i typed above) and Wolfpack. Usually wolfpack is quite dangerous but faster way to reach coz its speed,judgement and intuition must be 100% tip top.

 

Herding is still the safest way. Safer speed, safer distance and also easy judgement.

 

Lastly, Dun be a Lemming when riding.

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

i also have some frens who are not into touring trips...

individual preferences i would say... :dot:
