anyone got buy tamiya remote control cars b4?

Me !!!

Recently gt hooked back to r/c cars again..So drop by Swan models(Winnie) at Orchard Plaza & Stargek(Tamiya Showroom @ Paya Lebar) to purchase my kit as well as radio..

So here's the breakdown,

Tamiya TA-05 IFS EBBRO 350R Kit = $224(RRP @ $280 but Stargek having 20% discount from now till 30th June 08)

Tamiya TZ Motor(Higher torque cos going into drifting) = $42(RRP @ $52.5 but due to 20% discount)

Sanwa MX-3 FHSS = $260(Orchard)

Futaba S3050 Digital Servo = $80(Orchard)

Futaba MC330CR ESC= $90(Orchrd)

Tamiya PS-16 & PS-41 Sprays = $16

Total: $712

Next up would be,

Maxamps 5000Mah Lipo(Lithium Polymer) Packs = $180

Hyperion 0606i Charger = $200

Low Voltage Cut indicator for Lipos= $10

So total 1k odd to get everything moving..

Took me 8hrs to assemble the kit with radio + another 5-6 hours to mask the cover, spray + decal it..

Here's the end results,

Bare bone kit

With cover

By the way Stargek is having the 20% discount till the end of this month, so if anyone of you is interested in getting Tamiya stuff, can head down for a look. :thumb:

Of cos if you are interested in r/c, there's cheaper kit and radio available...

Well, i channeled those $$$ which i might spend on bike aftermarket parts to r/c...

The money spend on my r/c isnt enough for me to even get a arrow endcan + cat converter for my current ride...

well, one man's meat another's poison..

some of the PE kits, resin kits costed me a bomb.. adding them up enough for me to buy a Yoshi Fullsystem for my CB400.. but they are priceless now, as most of them are out of production.. mostly mint in boxes..

Thanks bro..

It's a damn ah beng 350z..

If you wana get 1st hand, perhaps you might wana pay Winnie from Swan Models @ Orchard Plaza for more info..Just tell her you r new into r/c and u wana get started on a drift kit..She can recommend you some stuffs..Rough breakdown for a brand new kit,

Tamiya TT-01D(D stands for drift) Kit = $220(With electronic speed controller + drift tyres + Tamiya original LED set)

Futaba 2PL FM Radio = $160

Servo is optional but recommended to get a 6kg-8kg servo if you wana go into drifting..

Futaba S3050 Digital Servo = $88

For motor i recommend Tamiya TZ(23T) which goes for $46 from Winnie..Can try to use the sports tuned motor provided in the kit..

Battery and charger wise, it's up to you on what kind of battery and charger you wana get..

i got them 2nd hand from a fellow friend.. he "upgrade" his compressor.. for my airbrush, i bought from Hobby Point.. Art Friend does sell some decent compressors and airbrushes..

paints i normally get thru my friend's shop.. but he had closed his shop.. but haven rekindle the passion yet.. hopefully all my paints still useable and not dried up.. else gonna spend a lot of monys..

parts i normally get thru HLJ, normally in bulk and mostly small items like PE parts and decals..

i built mainly modern tanks but sometimes bikes...:cheeky:

true enuff, it's an expensive hobby but if u r good enuff u can generate money to substain this hobby...

u can c my work at the link below...

hi guys. actually 2 to 3 years back. im into this

anyway, im quite interested in those bikes and cars scale model. roughly how much does one cost? because i have a empty fish tank. but the fish tank is built inside the wall. im thinking of putting some decoration there anyway since my fish alraedy commited suicide. so roughly how much per bike or car

it's very simple... it juz take time to practise, u doing some reading the term is call post-shading and pre-shading. any problem give me a ring...

i 1st pick up this hobby from a guy name bernard, he has his own shop at SunShine Plaze call the M Workshop... very nice guy, ask him anything he will teach u how to, he also offer lesson from basics to advance too...

i today went to take a look at those models. because im thinking of buying those already fixed up. but again, if i buy those already fixed up, i see already also not shiok. dont really have the confidence that i can fix one model. but i'll try, bought one anyway

so which model did u buy and brand?

oh actually i bought http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/14109ninja_zxrr/index.htm

should be this, if not very similar. its a zx-rr. haven open the box yet

but will i be getting exactly the same result as the website after i fix it up?

or will it be without those stickers, or are they provided?

when u fix up with painting it's juz the real plastic green... not the kind of green u c in the picture. e actually term of those stickers r call decals, those stuff u got to paste it urself...

so i have to buy those things separately issit? then from those previous post, where you all buy those small parts like exhaust and stuffs like tt
