Go down to the truck carpark at the end of Yishun ave 7 on Sunday mornings. There are usually a bunch of guys flying RC planes and some choppers there.

There is also a big empty patch of land on the hill beside the expressway just near woodlands Ave 12 exit. Some guys fly RC planes there on weekends also. It's very spacious. Not seen any choppers there yet though.

I too am into this, best to get a feel for the controls. No sudden movements in the control surfaces, gradual movements, and use the training skids (ping pong). I found it hard at first, best to play indoors as no wind to affect the flight characteristics.

By the way, hope I helped, I too am new to this, spend too much time on planes then helis.

Cheers...

It is not easy. Initially wanted to get the petrol propell chopper from

HIROBO. The chopper cost $500 and the remote from FUTABA cost

another $500. Sianz.

Some experience folk highly recommand not to commit too muz loh,

as the fuel carb type once crash, usually beyond repair.

Can check out the link below

Chopper

HIROBO

Remote

FUTABA

Play safe, got a cheap china made ESKY abt $300 plus,

everything in! True enuff after 2 flight, crash n burn.... sianz!

Replacement battery cost $45, now collecting dust.

ESKY

One flight abt 20mins, battery flat easily. Also recommand to let the motor cool

down after 10mins intervals.

Fuel type, so to speak, easier to fly, more agressive power, but require an

outdoor space! Fuel price reasonable lah.

I got the HONEY BEE CP2 with the aerobatic function, try not to get

tis model for starter as one wrong move, it juz invert 180 degree and

crash itself on the floor

Highly recommand the LAMA2, abit odd looking but the sucess rate

is pretty high, might juz be a wise investment!

Gd luck :thumb:

Crash n burn when i try to do a 360 flip.

Went up the roof hit it hard n came down hard.

Blade and rear rotor blade smashed. Battery also

unable to charge( abit of of shape ). Got a d replacement

parts still in plastic unopen. Let it rest for d time being..hahaha.

How is yours. Able to do hovering?

Still got put the ping pong ball, can hover when the ping pong is on the ground but once i throttle up a bit more then it start to fly here fly there.... Haiz, think still need more practice! But due to NS so got less time to play!!!

Be real careful, exerise patience, if u feel u can't control it,

let it go, dun push ya luck. If u crash it, the blade angle will be

out, after replacing it, it would not be as good as before.

Can get it at Fook High Building. Near China Town Point. Lots of spares part available! Remember it is a coner shop at ground level. The admin clerk quite pretty one....

Size 30, 50 or 70. Try to get the smaller size, can pratice at home. Some series comes with RS232 interface, can hook up the remote to ya computer for simulator.

Size 50, 70 good for outdoor, able to sustain wind factor.

In any case, get a spare battery, u r going to need it!

Good Luck bro! :thumb:

Hi guys, need to find out some info here.... You guys prefer flying with mode 1 or mode 2?

And what's the general setup? lift off on the right stick and throttle on the left stick is it? is that mode 1 or 2? I don't wanna learn the wrong type later become habit liao very hard to change, and become the odd one out...

Thanks!!

Charging time is 20 - 30 mins for 15 mins of flight. Very fun to play with as it can be played indoors at home

I'm about to get my very first heli, can ask you something? When the battery is low will it just drop like that? meaning you cannot control anymore which is very dangerous... muz go catch it. Or is it got some sort of indication?

Posted

The heli made from styrofoam, very durable one and don't break easily they say. So far mine dropped quite a few times but still ok. I just got 2 more spares just for the fun of it :cheeky:

Edit: For those wondering, i got mine from Robinson City Hall

okay I just saw them at Plaza Singapura today, $39.90... got promoter there but she doesn't seemed like she knew anything about it :slapforehead:

I tried and it did seemed pretty easy to fly, in fact I'd think it's impossible to crash!

One concern though, the one I tried seemed to have difficulty in turning - all it could do was to fly up/down and rotate clockwise/anti-clockwise.

I ask the promoter and she said "can can" but she couldn't do it as well. Maybe she crashed it too many times? Spoilt liao?

I wanted to get one of those mini heli like the one whiteoryx got..

seems kinda fun when the promoters are playing in the toy section..

Maybe get one to terrorize my dog.. :cheeky:

WhiteOryx - you actually bought 3 of those choppers? That's more than a hundred bucks!

Nope altogether less than 100 bucks  got 20% discount mah and i wanna mod the outlook of one of them to apache :cheeky: By the way did u get one?

][][ No point waiting.. if you want something, its best to go get it yourself!!! ][][

No I didn't, due to the very unimpressive performance of the promoter...

Wah Apache sia~ :lovestruck:

I'm actually thinking of getting the other type - think it's called a LAMA V3 or something... 4 channel. Anybody tried? ellamcoy care to comment?

BaaBaa Black Sheep, be careful that your dog doesn't eat it! haha...
