I just came back from a trip to Australia (Melbourne)...

-Rent is now more expensive but it is true the accommodation will be bigger but no facilities like here (that said where I have lived in SG never any facilities)

-Taxi's, trains or any form of public transport is much more expensive, dirty, vandalised etc

-Food is much more expensive in supermarkets (other than some meat) and restaurants very expensive

-Housing is cheaper v's condo/landed in SG but much more expensive v's HDB

-Cars are cheaper due to COE but motorbikes about the same cost

-Tax is a killer v's SG so even cheaper items really should be doubled in cost for comparison as you had to earn so much more to get the same net cash

-There is graffiti everywhere, the streets are littered, it's not safe in so many areas at night, syringes in the gutter in many suburbs etc

 

So I can speak from my own personal experience... SG is a great place.

To a certain extend, what you mention is true. However, the pay in Australia is higher and also the cost too. In the end, it's the same outcome for savings and expenditure. That's how I feel in Brisbane. There're ways to save money, if you know where to look.

whats bugging..

mid night, near bugis junction.. group of 7-8 cyclist cycle as if they own the road.. whole group takes up one whole lane.. ok nevermind..

If multi lane they can ride side x side at a maximum of two abreast -it is safer if they don't share a whole lane with cars as car drivers (being as impatient as they are) will try to squeeze through in the same lane. That way the car driver must make a conscious decision to pass by moving slightly into the next lane.

 

u want to use the road as a road user as the very LEAST obey the traffic rules.. whole bloody group sway in and out of their one lane, didn't stop during traffic red light(more than once)

This is bad and happens too often in Singapore (that said, I am guilty of that sometimes on a bicycle/roller-blades/running if no traffic coming the other way).

why? because they delay you 2 seconds... if your on a motorbike you can easily catch the time up again

Feels if there is a official agreement and deposit. If e buyer wan out, forfeit deposit. Tats how it is in commercial. Of coz e seller can be nice and refund but if there is a proper agreement in paper then buyer lose. Of coz e agreement in paper also has to state clearly qat is e terms of agreement la.

 

Tat y when we buy from shop ve to sign paoer. If half way anything shop can sue.

I think it's just an expression to those cyclists who do not obey the road rules n cycle dangerously. Its endangering other road user as well.

Normally i will just high rev pass the cyclist that are moving out of lane. The loud rev sound is enough to warn/scare them that they are not obeying the road rules.

 

Please keep at least 1m away from the cyclist if you wanna do the above.

And even last night, I asked him not to. I spoke to so many people, and hoped to transferred him to another department to accomodate his study and work schedule.

If memory does not fail me if against our direction is 1metre and same direction is 1.5m.

 

Just saw an ah neh cycling zig zag on the most left of the most left lane as though wobbling. Kept a distance and rev more as I passed by him. Good move? Seconds later saw him cycling in a much more stable manner. He was not wearing bright coloured clothes nor is there any form of lighting on his bicycle at night.

Long time ago.

 

I was on the bus going to work in town. And the bus was crowded with people, so I was standing where the place people drop their coins in. And looking forward.

 

This cyclist, came onto the bus lane and cycled at the side. So when the bus moved, it had to slowly follow behind the cyclist cos the right side roads are filled with cars.

 

Can see that the cyclist got nervous and was cycling like he is racing, a lot of wobbling due to fast body movement. Then suddenly he might have turned his handlebar too sharp and he tumbled from the bike.

 

So bus driver stopped, and went down to check on him. Can see that the idiot was trying to argue that that bus driver hit him.

 

Anyway, I was standing way up front and if the bus did hit the cyclist, the bus driver cant see that much of his left front, which is his blind side. I go down from the bus, approached them and tell them, we are late, we will appreciate that the bus is moved, and if the cyclist wished to claim against the bus company, to do so properly. No need to argue. And since I was standing at the bus front. I will be the witness for the bus driver that the bus never touched the cyclist.

 

Its a PRC cyclist btw.

If they're inching to the right side of the lane, I'll give them a short horn to let them know that there's a vehicle approaching from behind, reduce my speed and overtake with caution.

Now the thing is he said $1.8k include the repairs to let the bike start. Now the bike can start already he tell me battery weak. Then thermostat meter not working. Both is working la. He wan reduce the price. When the deposit already told him is used to repair the bike. Already done, he asking for more things to repair. The agreement was as long as the bike can start, he will buy. Now can start already, he coming up with lots of excuses to reduce the price which we agreed on.

 

Then don't sell, its that simple, find a less full of bullcrap buyer. I want to sell simple things like head cowling also people ask so many questions in the end never buy, clearly got picture, clearly state I only have that one, if want others have to order, you want different color go and paint yourself or pay deposit and I go order.

 

Ask him to return the bike key or you will report police, say his deposit forfeit.

 

Regarding that R1 rider,you ride R1 03 beginner class 2? Nabei then all the track otais riding R1 03 all beginner liao? Must be some punk wanna be racer but have never tasted track. Probably can't even handle his R1.

Don't care him la... He never hear of "personal preference" before... I prefer carburetor bikes compared to FI bikes... In terms of fuel consumption, carburetors consume less fuel than FI bikes...
