Hi guys, recently just got my hands on my first classic, a cb175k6. My right carb is í

Apologies for the double post, anw Hi guys, recently just got my hands on my first classic, a cb175k6. My right carb is leaking very bad, causing idling to slow down and bike eventually dying out. Bike idles well when petcock is switched off.

 

Found out the problem lies with the float and needle, bought a carb repair kit and new set of floats, hopefully this will solve it.

 

Else, im thinking of getting aftermarket mikunis that can fit on the 175, read online its either the vm20 or vm22 series, which i understand is a 2 stroke carb. Anyone with any experience able to advise? Refraining from NOS original carbs as it costs around 900sgd, cant afford to spend that much for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

so i got a pair from the US thru Ebay.

now the CB11ex looks much better.

 

currently still waiting for the comet bikini fairing and original Honda factory engine guards to complete the look i want. Will try to post a pic once project is done.

If you are not fussy about looks you can swap for 2 cg carbs which can be bought locally. which is cheaper than
