you need to at least have electricity supply to your bike for it to even kick start...

thats what i found out at BBDC when my bike suddenly died half way cannot even kick start cos there is totally no electricity supply at all...

 

then can explain why retifier died still can start bike?

Hey guys, my bike starting problem got resolved.

Thanks to Arthur who came by to my place to help me out.

Actually my choke has been modified and it is not on the handle bar, but near the engine. The previous owner had modified it and I didnt know

 

When we tried to start the bike in the evening it started in just one crank. So looks like it was just a cold start problem and had I been able to locate the choke in the morning, it might have started.

 

lol, no worries, glad to help, good to know ur bike no problem.

actually for the choke, that time i went to UM they also say change to bottom, they say it's better, but i prefer the same; on the handlebar, thus i told them a big NO.

for cold start problem, u'll need to be patient, it might take 5-30min to start, but just be patient n try all the methods. important is not to push the starter too often, too fast, else it'll burn out. try starter, then kick/or push, and alternate btw them.

I think what alvin meant was that the bike key needs to be on,for the circuit to b closed before kickstart can b achieved.

If it is leaking from the round plastic gasket near the top right side of the engine, then no need to remove block. They will just remove the tank and then open the head of the engine and then re-glue it and change the gasket. Cost 35$ last time when I did it at UM

lol, if that's the case, we are talking about different things.

 

of course the circuit need to be closed to achieve a startup, however what i'm mentioning is during a startup problem, even if the battery is faulty, the bike should still be able to start.

what happen if the diaphragm faulty or wore out? alway read you guy mention diaphragm rubber cannot take it strong petrol from msia.

my bike at 40k km but haven't changed diaphragm yet.. pumping jb ron97 since they have made that rule. so far so good.

i also read some comments about disphragm changes.. i kiasu bought one.. till now still sitting there.. lol

for me when i wash the carb the mech told me the diaphragm expanded already. so i asked him what will happen if i leave it like that. he oni say 'tak sedap' when u go for a ride so i ask him change. got some truth in that. felt a lil better when riding home from UM. or maybe its just me. i mean $25 for a piece of rubber is LOL.
