I think that is normal. May be because the RPM is very high when you down gear. Looks like you are on stock sprockets. Change the rear sprocket to smaller size and then the rpm should be low and you will feel the bike much smoother.

 

Also since you are new with the bike, you still have learn at what RPM to change gear. After sometime you will get used to it.
