has any one here got the hella horn? need any mod to install it? our just remove the stock n replace it?

I'm experiencing at least a couple of 'dangerously cutting in to my lane' cases every day... :(

me me, need to re-route wiring n install relay to get best result, persnally hella is only a tiny bit louder, but i'm comparing old horn with new ones. but hella is cheaper. :cheeky:

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

I doubt whether UM will do the labour for 5$. I think it will be 10$. I had called them up once and thats the quote I got. May be for SBT members 5$. :cheeky:

A few of us do. I installed them right after I bought Shadow because the stock horn seriously is like a bird chirping.. Zero efficiency.

With the Hella horns, it's a whole other story. I completely understand what you mean by "cases" of lane bullying: the hella horns will put the car or truck back into their lane !

Arthur, I don;t know which model you say is not loud enough, I'll take a pic of mine later this evening, i still have the box so Dejaxx can see. The one I use is good enough.

You need a relay and a fuse, and to know where to wire it, but it's fairly simple. Cookie Monster helped me do mine, but I'm sure many here can tell you where to tap the wires. Doesn't require anything special other than that, and again, it's very simple to install so you should definitely ditch the stock horn.

Speaking of horns & Cookie, I think if I'm not mistaken he put a car's horn on his Pulsar. Now that's a bit of a stretch, but everyone must leave him alone in his lane

Make that 6, I'm dropping there after work today to get me some.

The shop owner won't understand what happens to him, all of a sudden Pulsar riders invading his shop for brake pads

But I'm still stuck with my choices for the rear drum brake ...hmmm.. what to get, what to get.... I was really hoping sbs would have a model that could fit our P200 drum brake

I got a question guys about chain oil(lube) and rims : After rain or bike wash session, I always check my chain to see if i should oil it. I usually do in those 2 circumstances.

I don't put too much, I follow the advices found on the web on how to properly oil the chain.

Now, there's still something I haven't figured out how to fix: the oil splatter all over my rear wheel rim ! It's really annoying, it's like super black greasy marks/thin layer on my golden rims

I don;t think it's because I put too much oil, but could it be because I use that gel type of oil ? (Can't remember the brand.. it's a spay can with a small needle beak and when you spray it becomes like a gel, it's greenish in color).

If I used liquid chain lube, would it still splatter on the rear rim ?

Oh and what do you use to remove the oil/grease from the rims ? Because i tried everything, that Orange Degreaser, Wheel cleaners, and I use a thick brush. But the degreasers don't degrease anything, they barely liquefy the grease, and when I brush it just tends to put grease everywhere even more. I was thinking maybe I should wipe it off while the rim is still dry..anyone got some useful tip for this ? Can I use WD40 on painted rims ? (WD40 is my answer for anything I can't clean lol..)

wd40 is ur answer, um's answer always petrol

imo, the lube will always spill, liquid spill more badly. on my rim it's easy to clean, chrome. one wipe n it's off, but the spoke hard to clean, so most of the time i never bother.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

i need to re route my wires cos i got something special to do.

i think we all got the same, frankly i feel the stock is loud enough, dont know if p200 uses a diff model, but should be the same. but after buying, i'm still happy, i get a slightly louder noise for a cheaper price.

if anybody want to ditch their stock horn, pass to me :p

Thats why I like the original pulsar set up of closed chain cover and standard chain. Standard chain is lighter than the o-ring chain in the new pulsars so better FC. The only advantage of the o-ring chain is the looks as it can be left open. But standard chain is also much cheaper. :)

Muc-Off have a wide range of cleaning product, with an emphasis on degreaser and chain cleaner. I saw that Motoworld is importing them (I believe the brand is UK made) - but I don;t know if I want to put lots of $$$ in something meant to end up in the sewers :cheeky: I like my cheaper Mustapha product better.

I forgot to check the prices of the chain cleaner and the degreaser from Muc-Off.

I use the rear part of the lever to find neutral from 1st gear after stopping. The front part is not that precise while pushing up, too much force it will go to 2nd gear. Its easy to use both front and rear to make that precise tap to bring it to neutral.
