Since you mentioned the leak is from a tube, I doubt whether it is engine oil. I dont think there is any tube from which the engine oil can escape. May be its petrol like how the others are saying but then petrol evaporates quickly so it shouldnt be slippery at all. Strange.

Did you check the EO level using dip stick how low is it? If the leak is so bad then you should be able to determine exactly where the leak is from. Tomorow morning just wash the bike clean and try to identify exactly where the leak is from and whether it is really EO or petrol. Then we can take it from there.

All mechanics are not good in diagonising issues, bro. Its better if we identify the issue ourselves and then get it rectified.

u're right, petrol does evaporates quickly, but it could be a mixture of both.

first, park ur bike in main stand, turn off the fuel hose, dismantle the hose n check if there's any tear, it's rubber so u might want bend n check. check if there's any leak from the tap.

dismantle the front spocket cover, a lot of rubbish is actually accumulated there, bring home the cover n wash. leave the cover open.

clean up ur bike.

if the leak is bad, return in an hour, u should be able to spot where it's from.

perhaps u can take some photo n show, a pic speaks a thousand words.

Accident can happen anytime, anywhere.

However ask yourself, do you want to fall at 120km/h or 60km/h?

oren..the handlebar brace i bought from ahboy looks like tis http://www.triumph-online.co.uk/ekmps/shops/squaredealsmot/images/gps-gps.00.308.110.gif

Ok I see, it's not meant to reduce vibration, but just to provide support for something you would attache to it.

Freddy i mean get this one... btw O'ren how much do u get this...

The one I have I got with my disc lock - it's a few bucks, have a look here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Disc-lock-reminder-Mammoth-/250768124013#payId

erm i started my jb trips alone, dangerous u ask me, i heard about the cases.

basically i dont think anybody wants to steal a pulsar, but dont park in those dark places. if u're alone, dont go in at night.

mix in with the crowds n keep ur wallets n cash out of sight, even when shopping. for ladies, dont bring along bags. keep all ur belongings with u. best dont bring anything but the essentials.

I wouldn't advise ladies to go to JB or MY at night period. And during the day, always go by pair at least or with a group.

Even guys, it's always best to be with someone else. If alone, just be more aware of who's around, who follows you (people follow bikes from the customs until they park somwhere to rob/steal them).

A lot of Singaporeans lack the basic common sense when it comes to traveling overseas because Singapore is a country where people will bring you your wallet untouched if you forget it in a public place.. But, here's some tips:

- Never put all your money in the same place. Ideally, the bulk of it should be deep in a bag or in a "hidden" pocket of a spare clothing in your bag.

- Always carry a copy of your IC and passport, use those for non police matters

- Always carry a spare key of your motorbike (not in the same place as the one you use !)

- Don't attract attention with flashy jewelry, watches, electronic gadgets (ipod, iphone etc..). Be discreet with those as much as you can.

- Always carry a flashlight, the stronger the better

I really think MY is not less safe than other countries I traveled. In any country, if you show up with clothes and equipment that screams that you're wealthier than the locals, you will attract unwanted attention. And because you are a rider, you're often perceived as easy to isolate. Also remember your SG plate is definitely singling you out from the local crowd, always keep that in mind. I suppose for me, I already look different so I am very aware at how people look at me and I know by default I'd be a target, but actually even if you look the part, people will always know you're not from around there.

A good way of convincing family to let you go to JB or MY is to go with a group of friends, people who have been there before, and to do the trip by day, while keeping in touch with your relatives (sms from time to time).

Guys, I went to get SBS brake pads but the shop owner gave me the 151SQ model instead of the one he gave some of you, saying it would also work, can you please confirm this is compatible with our bike ?

It looks to me like there's a curved side that is very different in this new model I got  And also both pads of the pair don't have the same shape !

One way to find out will be, look at the list of bikes mentioned on your brake pad set and then compare it with the list of bikes on MJ's brake pad set. If they match then the brake pads should work.

Hey guys, I was thinking, while I was away, did you guys agree on a logo for our team ?

I know this is a topic many many times brought up from the depths of oblivion then sent back again to Davy Jones locker but I'm willing to dig it up again !

So:

1. Any agreement on a logo ?

2. What is the name of our team ? Are we keeping SINGAPORE BAJAJ TEAM or are we going with PULSARIANs something like our fellow riders in Indo ? (I personally don't think we should call ourselves Bajaj team because we never had anything else but Pulsar riders....)

Have a look how dirty my front sprocket area. When I had changed my sprockets and chain at Ah Boy, I asked them if they can clean it. They said need to use petrol to clean it :faint:

BTW, why should speedaddict remove the front sprocket cover, Is there a chance of leak from there?

It is easy to access, it the black color metal cover just above the Gear changing lever. The cover also has the picture on it that shows how to change the gears 1 down and 4 up.There are 2 bolts, quite small, may be you need a wrench of the right size to remove it.

The mech at Ah boy removed the gear lever first and then the cover. Not sure if removing the gear lever is necessary.

Xado Very Lube Anti Carbon ..... How to use ?????

Anti Carbon can be used for 2 purposes

1 : To remove and clean carbon particles on the piston head

2: To flush engine oil system

..................................................

Fast-acting product designed to remove carbon contaminations and restore stuck piston rings of gasoline and diesel engines. It removes all scale and tar contaminations from the parts surfaces of cylinder-piston system. It does not require oil changing after application.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

FOR ROMOVING CARBON PARTICLES

1. Warm up the engine. The engine should be warm but not hot.

2. Unscrew the spark plugs. Disconnect the coil wire from the distributor.

3. Squeeze in the content of 1 tube into each cylinder. Screw the plugs back in. Wait for 10–20 minutes. Unscrew the plugs. Cover the plugholes with absorbing fabric to avoid dirt flyingout and getting onto the paint. Rotate the engine with the starter for several seconds.

4. Replace spark plugs.

5. Start the engine and run it at moderate RPM for up to 15 minutes. During this time, the residues of the softened carbon will be removed through the exhausts system.

DOSAGE:

1 tube — 1 cylinder;

NOTE!

•Avoid getting the substance onto paint.

•Safe for catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, mechanical rubber goods and sealings.

FOR FLUSHING ENGINE OIL SYSTEM

•The VERYLUBE ANTICARBON in tubes can be used for engine oil system flushing :

1.Introduce Anticarbon into warmedup engine through the oilfiller neck at a ratio 40 ml of Anticarbon for 3–5 liters of oil.

2.Let the engine idle for 10–15 minutes.

3.Change oil and oil filter.

http://www.fleetwatermarine.com/xadouk/images/Special%20Fluids/Anticarbon/xado-verylube-anticarbon.gif

Should I use this for the spark plugs or in the oil tank ?

I already use XADO Revitalizants for the oil tank. Can I use this on top of it ?

Can someone post a pic of how to do this please :

"2. Unscrew the spark plugs. Disconnect the coil wire from the distributor."

thanks all for the advise. It seems when I park on main stand the leak would be worse than by side stand..

Hopefully no meetings or problem come up today and I will tiredly and unwillingly go UM.

Pray that they don't need to open up the engine and pay for "labor charge" >$200.

They overhauled my bike not even 1 year ago..

wow so much rubbish inside. :faint:

there's 2 o-ring near the spocket. i couldn't be 100% sure, but ur's look like it might be from there. just clean it up, perhaps leave it overnite. if there's a leak, leaving that part open, u'll see a bleed of oil dropping instead of accumulating inside the cover.

for cleaning, various methods, soap n toothbrush does a good job, oren's method always wd40, um's method always petrol, so up to ur preference. also after cleaning, dont lube back ur chain 1st, determine where the leak is from, confirmed, then lube back n head to um. the reason if u lube ur chain, it might be the chain's oil instead of the leak.

Oooooopss..... sorry ppl think I've lost the sbs packet pic sample ... somehow try to look for it but it's gone ..... kekekekeke

anyway shall wait for AhPet to update since he informed that he will change his bike pads or since you have bought it then shall update here too happens you stop by at UM ... kekeke

@ revhappy .... reasons why I liked to wash my bike myself as I can clean all that area during my bike wash .... using covered or opened chain guard, that area will not free from all the oil + water + dirt that flung in there. The longer one takes to clean that area, the more messy it will be .... cheers!

@ O'Ren .. just remove the cover but before that make a mark on your gear shift pedal position so that later when you fix back the gear pedal it's at the same position.

And normally if I at UM for my servicing, I just asked them to remove the cover and I cleaned that area with a rag or newspaper myself cos the $6 servicing does not covered that part ... kekeke

the left spark plug can be unscrew using a wrench, the right one however u need a cone wrench as it's deep inside.
