thinking of buying pulsar as from forum seems like a good transport bike.

 

but after calling few shops, they say pulsar big headache as no spare parts and hard to maintain. duno if they say cos they dont sell pulsar. anybody like to comment?

thats not true. first of all.. spare parts are carried by UM (Universal Motors). They are easily accessible at bt merah. In fact, some parts can be replaced by Honda or Yamaha parts..

 

so I don't think its totally true to say spare parts are hard to get.

 

as to maintainance.. its a naked bike. don't have to remove extra fairing and you can remove spark plugs and change engine oil.. i don't see how easier it can get. tensioning of chain and oiling is exactly the same as what you would do for other bikes.. so again no difference.

 

 

just some advice, if you are interested in pulsar, go down to their distributor, Universal Motors and get a quote from their very trustworthy staff.

if those shops u asked don sell pulsar means their knowledge of pulsar probably is "hearsay" also ba... but it's the choice for u to believe in whoever

1.68 and u r tiptoeing? I am around 1.55-1.58.. i am also tiptoeing..

 

I have cut my seat a little thought it didnt really help much..

 

Lower the suspension will make it lower.. but i heard that it will kinda affect performance..

i think why they said pulsar parts are hard to get because.. UM is the sole distributor and they dont sell to other workshops.. all parts can only be gotten from UM (Universal Motor)..

 

If u need us to go with u.. i am sure many here will be willing providded they are free..

 

Talking about that.. i have yet to go for my servicing..

i'm 1.71 and tiptoeing. it doesnt really make a difference because at traffic lights just drop one leg instead of both. you get used to it after a while, hardly notice at all. only part where there might be a little problem is squeezing through traffic at low speeds, though with some practice it's okay too. imo the shops just don't want you to get such an awesome bike as the pulsar so they diss it o:

shes doing hard run-in. works well also de. in fact some say hard run-in the seals are better fitted.. but engine life might compromise.

 

but like i said to a friend yesterday.. if you wanna go fast.. you probably have gotten the wrong bike.. why not get a kips or other sporty ones.. confirm hit 130km/h no problem
