woohoo :) today is a good day.

i just had my seats re-wrapped at Eugene Saddlery. I must commend his worksmanship and quality. He will spend the extra 5 minutes removing and restapling that tiny crease when found. Quality of the new wrap was excellent, its waterproof and thicker than the stock wrap. Stock wrap creases when pressure is applied, and from naked eye can tell the quality is not that ideal.

I went to 2 other shops for quotes before approaching Eugene. Since online comments stated his slightly expensive worksmanship to compensate for quality. First shop (a few streets before Eugene) quoted $35. Second shop was beside LAB, quoted $30+++ but bad attitude man.. i'm never going back there. The second carrot-shops said 2 pieces (p200 is 2 piece seat) so charge more expensive.

However, when i went to Eugene, his quote was the cheapest... cos i realise he is an old friend... heehee.

Anyhow i recommend that pulsar bros go to Eugene for re-wrap if you require one :) He will also advise you on proper maintenance (armorall is bad!) and suitable materials for cat infested areas.

:thumb: for Eugene!

yup!! i've been going there to do my seat 'nong nong' time ago....

and i did recommend those pioneer pulsar batch to go to him and do.

he know me as a regular customer. yes his quality and friendliness can beat any shop i know.. his workmanship is superb.

yes again with bro. he's more for specialist for normal wrapping.. design wise not much.

PS: he did my vespa seat very beautifuly too..

Gotta pay more for quality mah. We need 1 litre nia so $20 damage is still ok to me lah.

Regarding the RS Taichi raincoat, I dun recommend the Rainbuster. Only the pants is good. The top loses its waterproofness after abt 1 yr only. For something that originally cost abt $70, I expected better.

I recommend the Drymaster instead. Quite expensive at $100+ but it's worth it.

agree totally.. drymaster is better.. i was amaze when i use it even during heavy down pour. i use it alot during my dispatch days.. and it was during raining month.. and the jacket quick to dry also.. and dun take much space when u fold it to store.

Maxima Chain Lube saw it at Motoworld just last fri, the silver can one right?

speaking of EO, anyone tried to feel the diff btwn maxima 15W50synth and the 20W50 semi-synth? Cuz david at UM advised me to go no thinner than 20W50 semi-synth, can't remember his explanation why better to not use full synth. what's the noticable diff? smoother/rougher engine sounds? Easier shifting?

hhhmmm, the 49.99 is limited to only size S,M, the only sizes left for the older rainbuster. New ones full price. Think they clearing the '07 models or something, i tried my luck, but too bad i'm XL, ahaha. drymaster, wear on top of riding jacket, nice protection from the sting. keke.

where to buy? i confirm size S or M. wanna get one for the rainy season.

thats true. design wise they are limited compared to others. but they will be moving into their new place next month. maybe then the choices will improve?

where they shifting?

what he did to his bike? anyway, u can always try go this shop at bukit merah. it's along the road before you turn inside the carpark area. got banner showing maxima if you are not sharp enough.

i have no idea also. but people say cannot, then cannot lor. no good means no good. but i don't know any rational behind it. but fully synthetic is definitely smoother when changing gear. but it will comes to a day(after 500-1000km) when both actually feels the same. synthetic or not.

are you guys talking about the newer or older version of drymaster? the older version seems a lot thicker and more problematic in folding. the newer version seems too thin in my opinion. my $30 ProRacing rain jacket is thicker than that.

and i suppose 1 year is alright since its about $50 now. but limited sizes.

cos your bike is new Orleng, cannot use too thin oil else it will not run in the engine properly... i suggest sticking to at least a w50 even after your 2000km run-in.. i'll probably wait for 10k km before i switch to other oils for fun :p

They are shifting to a few streets before their current shop. Still along Jalan Besar.

motoworld, the lavender boutique showroom one, might wanna go fast, the budget clearance version of rainbuster left few pieces nia.

can also buy for female pillions/potential pillions! won't wanna have an angry girl with a white shirt and a waterline running down the front! heh heh heh.

*disclaimer, i not affiliated in anyway*

haha. mine 2nd hand UG2, but i think they just rebuilt the engine before handing over to me, cuz when i got it, gasket sealant was grey, now become brown liao, like chaotah from engine heat. with the EO that UM put in it, after a few days damned hard to shift into neut. when parking gotta sit n push/roll it like an idiot for awhile before can shift. now using 20W50 alot smoother, but was wondering if fullsynth 15W50 got any improvement over that. maybe next EO change i try.

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

Haha to be fair it was still a "controlled environment" and they don't really teach you to weave in between vehicles. And most of the time the traddic at CDC wasn't so heavy.

Wonder how you guys got used to riding in between moving vehicles? That's my number one fear at the moment because controlling the bike isn't a big issue for me.

IMHO, develop a riding/driving six sense is a must. just to share...

1) Know you bike dimension.

1.1) the width distance of your handle bar...

1.2) the length of your bike....

1.3) The actual spot of your bike where vehicle enter and disappear

from your mirror (blind spot)

1.4) The estimate actual distance of a vehicle appear in your mirror.

2) Know your bike capability

2.1) know the response timing of you bike at every gear...

2.2) Know the pickup response of your bike

2.3) Know your rpm at what speed...

2.4) Know the cornering capability of you bike

2.5) Know your bike braking distance (front, rear and engine brake)

After you know your bike and your own riding skill... is time to observe other

road users.

3) Alway observe at the car behaviour in front of you....

3.1) Observe the behaviour will let us rider anticipate wat the driver trying

to do.

3.2) Some driver never turn on signal light when switching lane.

3.3) this list is very long if i would to list out all the behaviour... try observe yourself.

4) Alway keep an awarness of your surrounding

4.1) Front , side and rear...

4.2) alway look at the rear mirror, any vehicle coming at top speed or in

a funny manner, AVOID them by staying far far from them.

4.3) This will help you lookout for TP also... :thumb:

above is some of the basic thing... well anyone can either improve it or forget it. just to share...

When going in between car... use the 3 second rules.... CLEAR them by 3 second.... dun go in between car and maintain speed together with them... you died fast.

Cheers

Right i'll take note of it. Its just that my route from UM back to hougang (without going thru expressways) would include going through farrer road, lornie road. And because i drive there often in my car i know the kind of traffic that freqeunts these roads.

Now no longer in my safe zone of 4-doors and a boot+bonnet. Its going to be on hell of an experience.

You Stay in hougang?

the flat-head ones i install are super bright, the ones im selling look more like the stock blubs, but they are green.

U can go hunt for bright ones at Sim Lim Tower. Yours is the one that looks like a small egg right? Just a bulb by itself?

brighter ones has a flat head, and the LED not visible. but do note, it is brighter but the light is more spread out unlike the stock pole lights. so people see a fierce bright red but the red will probably not be cast on the walls.

to all the long time riders of UG2.

do any of you get this annoying sharp "tack-tack-tack-tack" sound/feel from your clutch that side when you downshift while engine braking and clutch out slowly?

e.g. from 4th to 3rd, when speed drop low enough, clutch in, shift down to 3rd, when clutching back out gradually, during the "half-clutch" time, it will go tack-tack-tack for while before engaging 3rd gear fully.

Is there something wrong w the clutch plates, e.g. must change alr?

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.
